Great wine

We had a lovely wine tasting session here before dining on a cheese platter in the gardens. The wines were lovely and we bought quite a few. I love the local stories on the labels. The surrounds were beautiful and relaxing.

A great oasis very close to town. Lovely food. Beautiful gardens. Dogs welcome. The vino was an extra bonus. David was friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the area. And his wine. The amazement of finding a winery in St George Qld!!!!

Spent a very pleasant time at Riversands winery. Tasted a number of very drinkable wines with host Rob. He was a delight. Stayed for cheese platter which was served in their garden. We just had to buy some!

We agree with reviews that say "one not to be missed".
Really good wine across the range and the platters in the Cafe work a treat.
Very knowledgeable and friendly owners and staff.
Stay around St George with quite a few interesting things to visit.

We luncheoned here as part of the St George Cotton farm and Winery tour. The cotton farm visit was superb. The vineyard trip was also superb. David guided us through his vineyard discussing both his table and wine grapes. He even told us how he had some ill gotten grapes.(He has since fessed up). The tour was fascinating and even finished with a hands on explanation of viticulture.

We then had a tasting of all the offerings. It is a small winery and wine supplies are limited. Today our tasting included a couple of brand new releases. They will benefit from bottle age. The other 14 we tried were consistently good. There were sweet and dry reds and whites and 4 fortifieds. We could not resist taking some with us.

Lunch was included in the tour. It began with delicious pumpkin soup and was followed by a selection of hand made fresh sandwiches based on local produce. Scrumptious. It was finished off with carrot cake and tea or coffee.

This was a fabulous experience.

This is a very well run winery and it shows.
Their range of wines is good and they taste good too.
They also run a very nice tea terrace in the pretty garden.

Fabulous tour and winery
May 2021 • Couples
Went on a tour of a cotton farm and this winery. The tour was fabulous, so informative with so much history about the area. The tour was for 5 hours including a lovely lunch and wine tasting for only $50 each. Well worth the price and would highly recommend. And the wine was devine!!! Walked away with quite a few purchases! Snow (cotton farmer) and David (winery) were great hosts.

A fantastic place to visit
May 2021
We had made good time getting to St George and decided to head to the winery for a cheeky wine tasting and some afternoon tea. Riversands winery is the most western winery in QLD and has some unique challenges in growing their grapes but still manage to make a number of really nice products.

After I was highly entertained by the bus of senior citizens who had had one too many wine tastings, we entered the bar area and were greeted by Estef. Estef told us tastings were free and proceeded to offer a generous taste of all 12 different alcohols they make. Now I know why the grannies were having such a good time!

I really enjoyed the different Moscatos and liqueurs and Noel enjoyed the port because he is turning into an old man. We ended up purchasing 7 bottles of alcohol here, so they must be doing something right. We enjoyed some afternoon tea in their garden cafe and then headed back into town to see what else we could find.

Pro tip: Drive very slowly up/down the driveway here, as down several rows of grapes we spotted lots of wildlife including Kangaroos, Cockatoos and an Emu.
