Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very interesting open air museum about the oil and gas history in Australia. Probably not enjoyable if you are violently "Green".
There's an elevator lined with video screens that simulate going up in an oil rig.
The cafe has delicious food and great service

This visit was the reason we came to Roma and we were not disappointed. Not knowing what to expect, we had not planned a long visit but ended up spending a couple of enjoyable hours there.
It gives a great understanding of the history of oil/gas exploration in the area and the trip to the top of the rig was breath taking. - highly recommended.
Allow enough time to have a coffee and a bite to eat at the cafe, as well as time to browse the Information Centre.
Another thing off our “bucket list”.

We enjoyed our stop at the Big Rig. It was informative, available, neatly presented and there were plenty of people on hand to answer questions.
We didn't take part in the night talk but it did look interesting.
We took our bikes off the car and did a short ride around the shared paths behind the Big Rig. There were public toilets on hand as well.

Staff were kind and helpful. Kids had a quiz to do that kept them engaged for nearly 2 hours. Hours of fun. Very informative about the area and it’s history. Great for all age groups.

Interesting visit. Lots of interactive displays. Enjoyed the climb up the big rig and the views of Roma and loved the animated shows in the lift.

It is where you can glean some of this little town's history. There is the Roma info centre which will direct you to the places of interest, tour you along some great historical events, explain that Roma was once an oil-rich place, hence the Big Rig. There are lots of events also happening at Big Rig some days of the week and during holidays especially like lively music gigs.

Found this to be a well laid out and informative experience. The presenter was passionate and explained in detail aspects of the history of oil drilling in Roma. Oh, and the port is pretty good as well.

Very nice, wonderful owners, great facilities. Enjoyed spending time in a very clean salt water pool relaxing after spending 2 days at an enduro. Nicely setup camp kitchen with fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and bbq. It was a pleasure to relax and have owners that care about their guests. We will be back on my next job.

Highly recommend a visit to the centre. The information is well laid out with many exhibits interactive which adds to the stories being told. You must experience the elevator to the top of the tower as well as taking the stairs - the lift is very different. We did both the day and night at The Rig and both were very good.
