Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It was a 340m walk down a path to the viewing platform and then you could take a dirt track to the top of the falls. It’s all uphill on the way back but it’s pretty short so not bad. Up the top is a toilet and picnic area.

We came in the dry season, and there was a lot of water. I can imagine that this waterfall is so much wider at the end of the wet season.
This waterfall is easily accessible and paved all the way to the viewing area. Not a lot of shade on the way to the viewing area though.

Milk stream falls is 5 minutes from Ravenshoe and we’ll worth a visit. Fairly level path to the viewing platform. The falls are the widest in Qld. Plenty of parking plus a toilet near the car park.

Just about 1 km off Highway 1 you will find the millstream falls. In July this is not a busy place. There is plenty of parking around and an easy hike to the waterfall. It is a bit downhill so a little climb back to the car park. This area was also used during WWII and there is a short walk around to show some left overs from that time. In all it takes about an hour to get around and see the waterfall

We weren't expecting these falls to be so beautiful. At the end of the day yesterday we thought we'd fit in another waterfall before the end of the day. It is beautiful in all its glory. Very wide waterfall and worth the relatively short walk.

Surprisingly strong torrent of water over the reputedly widest waterfall span in Qld. Worthwhile stopover while visiting Ravenshoe or driving through to the Savannah route. A short walk brings one to the viewing platform.

Visited Big Millstream Falls with adult children. Parking lot easily assessable via dirt road off National Hwy 1 (we were driving rented Carolla). Walkway to viewing platform is paved and an easy walk for all ages and abilities. Provides great view of the falls. There's also a unpaved side track down to the rock platform at the top left hand side of the falls. Rocks can be very slippery when wet, so step carefully. Good photo opportunity. There is also a 1km historical loop walk around the old Australian Army encampment during WWII with some informative signs.

The Falls are an easy 340 metres walk down to the viewing platform on a well formed track. However don’t forget ii is 340 metres uphill on the return. The sound of falling water is beautiful and the big rock pools look deep. Worth the 1 km of dirt from the main road and no problems for caravans as it has a good turning point and long parking. There are toilets and a nice covered picnic table and grassy picnic grounds.

Stunning falls, well worth a visit and not far from the Ravenshoe Hotel (well worth a visit for a drink, a meal or a stay).

Millstream Falls is a must if you are in the area. Once there, you find the walk down easy, the walk up harder. The path is made, so walking will be easy. The view from the bottom is worth the effort. If you are in the area during wet season and there has recently been a storm, make sure you make a detour to visit Millstream Falls. It is really worth it then. During World War II American and Australian soldiers camped out in this area to get used to the rain forest conditions they would experience overseas. There is a fantastic walk you can go on which will take you on a circuit of where the different camps were and what they represented. It is a very interesting read and worth the effort. If you look carefully on the drive along Kennedy Highway you will still find the old stone fireplaces the soldiers built during their time in the "rain forest".
