Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such a great experience for the whole family! Very cost effective considering how much work would go into keeping such a beautiful place alive. Butterfly Hill uphold their mission statement about learning the life cycle of the butterfly, very educational we learnt a lot! After the tour we brought some butterfly wings for my daughter and she pretended to fly around the garden, she was having the best time! I ended up buying a few plants for my own garden to attract these beautiful creatures around my home 🥰 Definitely worth a visit!!

Definitely felt ripped off paying $18 for 2 adults, thank god they didn’t charge for a 2 yr old. Yes you see butterflies but it should be no more the $5 and the garden walk wasn’t worth looking at.

We had a wonderful time with many butterflies landing on us, though it was the end of the season. The lady who runs the attraction was both friendly and informative and we weren’t rushed through.
At this time of year there aren’t as many butterflies out as it is very much seasonal attraction. There are stick insects as well.
Be aware that there is no off street parking, so during peak season this could be an issue.
The entry fee is modest so don’t expect glitz or glamour.
The path up to the office is a bit steep with various surfaces which may present problems for those with mobility issue.
I recommend bringing a water bottle with you as it can get very warm in the butterfly house and definitely wear a bright shirt to attract the butterflies.

What an amazing experience at Butterfly Hill, the staff here are the most down to earth people I have ever met. The knowledge of all the butterfly’s and other insects is 2nd to none. Best part is they have a little plant nursery there and you can purchase the different host plants and there food plants and they are amazingly cheap. Certain host plants will attract certain butterflies. So now our little family can enjoy our own butterflies all year long, not only do they look beautiful and bring a sense of calm they also pollinate your other plants.. win win.
Thanks again Teena and Brett for opening up your outstanding garden and spectacular butterfly Avery for us all to enjoy.

Great spot to drop in to show the kids. The owner was very knowledgeable. Just doing her thing. Not out to make lots of money. Just a passionate small business owner. Kids will enjoy. Nice little gift shop. Support this small business. 5 stars!!!

Was a very enjoyable visit. I attended with my mum and my son's last year. Although it was just the beginning of the butterfly season it was still amazing. A belated thank you for your kindness. I hope to return soon to see more and gift you something in return for your kindness.

I’ve been there and it’s a beautiful garden with lots of different coloured butterfly’s from all around Australia and it also has a pond with fish and if you want you can sit there and enjoy the peace and quiet. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Such a beautiful place and great experience! Huge greenhouse with multiple butterfly breeds. Received lots of butterfly kisses and could honestly stay there for hours just watching them fly all around us. Got to see up close from caterpillar stage right through to hatching butterflies as well as stick insects. Definitely recommend a visit!

Butterfly hill is a great little place if you want to learn about and see some Butterflies .
They show from egg to chrysalis and of course to Butterfly.
They also have a great selection of stick insects which you can also adopt if you choose to.
The lady who runs it is very informative and your able to stay as long and you like.

Took our family to this place on a trip to Sunshine Coast.

It was very relaxing to walk through the enclosure and to have butterflies flutter all around you.

The owner was very knowledgeable and passionate about each variety of butterfly and stick insect on display.

The establishment is a great example of sustainable environmentalism eco-tourism for these small, wonderful and often forgotten creatures of the eco-system.

Well worth a look if you passing by or just looking for a location for some mindfulness although you sometimes get over excited children as well !

This is an activity for the whole family to do, even on a wet or hot day.

The butterfly enclosure is not fully wheelchair accessible however I would recommend contacting the manager via their Facebook page to discuss your access arrangements if required.

For a tour group you would also need to check with management so not to over stack the exhibit with too many people.

This is a great, reasonably priced activity for the family. We will return again to visit the next time we are in the area.
