Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Cole our tour guide was funny and welcoming and very informative . The tour highlights were spotlighting for crocs, we saw 5! and the sunset drinks on the beach but all of the commentary was interesting from the mangroves to birds bats and mud crabs. Id go again! Well worth it!

We did a tour with Croc and Wildlife tour a few weeks ago when we were in Mission beach and it was a great experience looking for salt water crocs. The tour group was only about 8 people which was perfect and there were lots of crocs that we could see and probably hundreds more that were watching us but we couldn’t see. Our guide was full of great anecdotes and had information about staying safe around crocodiles and since we are heading into the swamps and boonies for parts of our drive around Australia it is good information to have. Overall a really fun time and we would recommend it to anyone in Mission Beach.

And a sharp-eyed Irish man.

Our croc tour was chosen to keep three generations happy- my grey nomad parents, sister and myself and her five and six year old kids.

The tour worked for all of us. The format, as outlined by others, was some daylight croc and snake spotting, a trip down the river for drinks at the Heads (which had a small settlement and beautiful view of the tropical Family Islands Group) and then a slow trip back, spotlights ready for croc hunting.

The kids loved the boat trip and crocs, mum and dad (who'd seen crocs before -it's hard to impress the 70 + audience) enjoyed the scenery and beach and I liked it all.

Thanks to the eagle eye of one of the Irish guests we saw three crocs; two littiles, one medium sized. Apparently the viewing is often better on week days, as there are fewer recreational boats around to scare the crocs off the banks.

We also caught one massive crab, which fascinated the kids with its huge claws. It went back into the water to hopefully live a long and happy life.

One of the nicest things about thei tour was the personal approach. Col and his wife Nicole run their own business so there's none of that mass tourism feel that you get so often when traveling. Col knows his stuff, the animals, birds and plants as well as Indigenous and European history of the area.

All in all this was a good tour that we'll remember for years to come.

We booked a tour for today and we are waiting 1hour on the boat ramp, but nobody is coming. The tour was booked yesterday personally with the owner, and was confirmed (I will bring the cheese platter)

On the 21st March 2016, I booked a tour for 4 people for the 21st May 2016. Two of these people were travelling from Melbourne, and were very excited about the Crocodile Tour, and the booking was confirmed.I telephoned on the 18th May2016, to advise the pick up address of our accommodation in Mission Beach, only to be told that they are no longer going out on the 21st May 2016!!!!!! But we could book for the following weekend!!!!! They say that they only need 4 people to do the tour which we were, sorry but this is terrible service and would not recommend this tour to anyone. Extremely angry!!!!!!! Cant advise on the tour as it was cancelled on us but never advised until I contacted the, but if their service is indication of the tour I wouldnt bother!!!!! Will now travel to Cairns and go to Hartleys Crocodile Farm

We had done this tour before, so took our 4 Melbourne visitors. We really enjoyed it then, and we all had a wonderful time this tour. We saw a 3 metre croc within minutes of leaving the boat ramp. We really enjoyed our stop at Hull Heads, complete with a glass of wine/beer or softdrink and nibblies whilst watching the sun set. Then we started searching with big spot lights. Saw another 3 metre and lots of babies. Col was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about crocodiles and mangroves, and his wife was delightful. We would totally recommend this tour.

I do NOT recommend doing this tour with a toddler. The trip itself was amazing and we wish we'd booked a nanny. I would love to return and do this again, minus the two year old.

We went on this tour with our son, daughter in law and 5 year old grandson, what a great experience for us all. Saw 5 or 6 crocodiles, several of them juveniles. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge and made the trip most enjoyable. Saw a jabaru which are not such a common sight. The glass of wine (or beer for the others) on the beach with a great platter of cheese, meats and nibbles was a lovely touch. We enjoyed the experience greatly and would highly recommend.

Had a great time experiencing the heart of crocodile country amongst the mangroves.! Along with abundant crocodile spotting were given very interesting information about the native fauna and flora that enriched our involvement in the crocs home town...had a close up view of an adult in the day and spotted several juveniles by spotlight at night on the way back! (which made the trip back entirely different and refreshing!) also the cheese platter at the river mouth is not to be underestimated👍🏼 have lived in the area for a year and have finally seen a croc! Great for the whole family! Thanks heaps!
