I never expected the experience of jumping out of a plane to be so chill...
The team of tandem masters and the staff on the ground are absolutely fantastic, they make you feel comfortable by having a laugh with you before you get in the plane, they make you feel safe by triple checking everything, and they definitely ensure that you make the most of the skydive itself.
I paid AUD$99 for the photos which I would definitely recommend as the photos came out looking brilliant (although extremely unflattering and hilarious..), and my friend paid another $99 on top of that for a video as well which, in my opinion, was not really worth the money - you get a nice little video montage with a song over the top but I wouldn't have paid that much for it.
There was a bit of waiting around in the office on the ground for us, which was fine as we went down to the beach with our group and watched all the other skydivers, but once you get in the plane everything goes so quickly!
The process of leaving the plane is over within seconds, and before long you're free falling and the parachute comes up. You can steer the parachute which was awesome, and you get a perfect amount of time in the air.
If you're torn between Mission Beach and the other destinations for skydive, your decision should be made based on the fact that the ONLY thing to do in Mission Beach is skydive - there is a bar and a supermarket and not much else. The scenery is beautiful though and the hostels are cute and really cheap.
Lastly, if you're nervous or scared - talk to everyone you possibly can, 90% of people staying in the hostels in Mission Beach have either already done the skydive or are there to do it. Ask all your questions and express your worries early on, then let yourself be excited without worrying!!!
It's a bloody amazing experience so don't let yourself miss out.

1st ever skydive - so glad I did it!

A must do! One of the most picturesque skydives you could ask for - coming in to land over the great barrier reef. Not for the faint hearted of course - it is absolutely terrifying. I describe this as my best and worst moment to date. The company are very professional and the staff like to have a good laugh at you! Expect to joke and fool around!

Went a few months ago. So, after waiting AN HOUR to be picked up, I called the company only to be told they'd mixed up and would come pick me up now. Upon arriving I didn't get any apology for the mix up, and when I said politely that they should not charge me for the photos to apologise ($100 is a total rip off!) they bluntly said no, again with no apology for the wait.
I then waited THREE HOURS to jump, with nothing to do and terrible food to buy, it was incredibly boring. FINALLY when I went to jump, the skydive was great but the instructor gave me a heap of attitude for being shaky and unable to remove the harness (sorry for being scared?). More waiting to be transported home. Poor photos not worth the money.
Seriously a terrible company, you can tell they dont' give a damn about your experience, just want to rip you off for your money. Go for a smaller company.

An agent who claimed not to get any commission booked this for us. We were disappointed when we tried to book a site for our camper at the resort Bali Hai- which the literature said we would have full use off that we would have to pay full price. We were told that if we had booked independently than we could have had discount. Later others told us that they had booked as a camper at Bali Hai- and had received 40dollars discount each off the skydive. As we were a family of four, paying in excess of 900dollars, it felt like we were back in rip off Britain- surely they could have let us stay for free at at unpowered site? The resort itself was a field and a toilet block.
Although some may see this as a small thing it actually put us off giving then any more money.

I did a sky dive on the 17th of janurary 2015 , the sky dive itself was awesome and a great experience ! i would still recommend mission beach as a great destination for sky diving , however the company itself are extremely unprofessional !! i paid a lot of money for a dedicated video and still have not received my footage. I was told on the day that i would receive my video via email later that evening as there was a fault with the computer at the time , i called the office in mission beach the next morning to see what the hold up was and not only were the staff rude but very unprofessional and unhelpful . This is very disappointing as this could be a great company to sky dive with ! the are quite happy taking your money for the add on's but when theres a problem and your unhappy they couldnt care less , still no video (which was the whole point of doing my skdive) no apology, no refund .. nothing, extremely disappointing !

So me and my friends are locals in Cairns and a few of us decided it would be a great idea to get a tick off of our bucket list for skydiving. What was supposed to be an exciting and adrenalin pumped day just seemed to drag on and on for hours. We drove to Mission Beach ourselves to only find ourselves sitting there and waiting in a hot run down office. Then when we were to ask questions as to when we will be jumping the staff were just rude and abrupt. We eventually did our skydive a few hours later but from all the waiting and the unproffesionalism of this company it just ruined the skydive. Me and my friend's didn't feel excited at all during the plane ride and the dive itself was ok, but if the staff were more professional and we were treated better then the skydive would have been 10000 x better! I would suggest that anyone considering an EXHILARATING skydive then there are other options than this one!!!

I love skydiving, hence booking this one!
I booked it through a travel agent and a pickup in Cairns was arranged, which was awesome.
Once at Mission Beach it only became clear that for these people business is more important than anything else… You had to go and sit in the lounge area, and wait… Till your name got called… I had to catch a bus, and told them that, but even so, I waited for about 2 hours before they called my name. We did all the paperwork, to then getting told that I couldn't jump, because I had dived the day before… That really got me seriously pissed off. I had checked it with the diving company, and one single dive meant 12h wait, and it had been already over 18… After quite a discussion they agreed to call their safety manager, and he confirmed their 24h rule. Calling up the travel agent, they told me I wouldn't get it reimbursed because it was a cancellation less than 24h before… WTF???? I would loose my money because these people were not aware of the latest PADI regulations???
Luckily the lady at the reception offered to email the diving center, and that was my savior!! The company replied quite quickly with the accurate PADI recommendations (being 12h after a single dive) and once the safety manager saw that, he allowed me to jump.
On the bus I got to know my tandem, Steve, a great guy, he saved my day!!
The jump was superb, the scenery stunning!!
Downside, once landed, your tandem has to run off to leave for his next jump, so you don't really get the chance to talk after landing, something I always appreciated after the other jumps I'd done.
Anyway, in conclusion, a company that has over 70 people jumping on a daily basis, based along the Great Barrier reef, one of THE best diving spots in the world, should be aware of the current PADI recommendations… It makes one wonder how accurate their skydive regulations are…
To people who want a bit of personal attention, DON'T jump with them!

Super scary but super amazing. The staff were excellent at calming my nerves, very professional and safe and go out of their way to ensure that the experience is great. Definitely recommend Misson beach its beautiful from so high up, the reef is different colours, turtles are visible and the beach with tiny people and houses. Unbeatable feeling, despite being terrified as soon as I was out the plane the fear disappeared and I had the most amazing experience of my life.

I did a sky dive here on my travels around Australia last September. I had the most amazing experience with the best possible guy called Tom. He made me feel so at ease and assured me not to be scared (As you can imagine i was thinking why have i booked this) Haha!!
Best thing ive ever done in my life Tom was amazing and im so glad i was partnered up with him for the big jump and flying through the sky.
Hopefully one day ill be able to travel Oz again and find my way back to mission beach to do another skydive. Thanks again would highly recommend

The price on our website includes the levy :) if you wish to add media you can add that on the day, insurance via the APF is an optional extra also.

Hi, I wear eyeglasses (spectacles). Can I do skydiving while wearing them? Without my glasses, i won’t be able to see clearly.

Thanks for your enquiry. We operate 7 days per week at our Mission Beach drop zone, you can check out current availability on our website or feel free to call our reservations crew on 1300 663 634.
Whilst we endeavour to complete your skydive within 3-4 hours, skydiving can be a full-day activity. Please allow for unforeseen delays due to events such as unfavourable weather and air traffic control.

Hi - what is the file format of the video clip of the skydive? Does the video package provide it as a CD, USB memory stick, or some other way, such as emailed as attachment? I'm just thinking if its emailed as an attachment it could be quite large and get bounced back by my email as max size is 10MB I think.
Any advice appreciated
