About
Chinamans Lagoon is a spectacular showing of Australian native waterlilies. These waterlilies are extraordinary in that they are a rare species of tropical waterlily that is extinct in its natural habitat. This species only survives in a handful of locations throughout Australia, Chinamans Lagoon being one.

Chinamans Lagoon is part of the Dogwood Crossing Walk and you can drive there if you don’t wish to do the whole walk. Mum is elderly and can’t walk long distances so we only did part of the walk which was very suitable as the path is all concrete. The lagoon was very pretty with gorgeous reflections. We love bird watching and saw kingfisher, red capped Robyn, brown quail and turquoise parrot. I recommend this walk. Suitable for seniors! 😊

A tranquil lovely spot where waterlilies bloom in late summer. At sunset the reflections are beautiful and the bird calls add to the tranquillity.

It was nice to stop and look at the beautiful pink and purple water lilies. It would be nice to stop for a while and have a picnic.

Not sure why this is an attraction. Some nice waterlilles and an uninterrupted view of a sawmill. If that's your thing, it's worth the drive.

Not much to see other than goats and a black sheep roaming around . A bit like deliverance in some ways and perhaps better with more rainfall. Lagoon is well signed and easy to find.

Chinamans Lagoon is something special. Not only is Chinamans Lagoon a picture perfect location but it also contains native waterlilies that are rare. These waterlilies are a rare topical species that can only be found in a handful of places in Australia. This was also an amazing place to have a picnic with the Family i would absolutely recommend that you and your family's visit Chinaman's Lagoon.
