About
Maleny Golf Club warmly welcomes visitors to play on our award-winning, picturesque 18-hole, Par 69 golf course set high on the range in the beautiful Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The course is one of the few in Australia to incorporate challenging, high quality revetted bunkers. Golfers from near and far have played and praised the course, including Masters Champion and former World Number One Adam Scott and 2022 Australian PGA Champion Jed Morgan. We hold competition tournaments every week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Visitors with an AGU Handicap and Financial Home Club Membership are most welcome to participate so please check our website for details. Lessons and clinics are also available from our Manager and PGA Professionals Rob McConnell and Nicola Mundt, and we have a variety of membership options for those looking to move to the area.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It is UNPLAYABLE. A large group played including low handicappers and this course does not reward good golf shots. Most greens are so sloping you can not hit onto them, they are tilt tables. The fairways are steep, not a problem for a designed course which this one clearly is not. Well place drives roll the full width of fairway to end up in knee deep fescue that some of us were INJURED trying to hit out. Only play social for the view, not for serious golfers. We all play much more difficult courses than this, but they are DESIGNED for golf, this is not.

Some just ok holes and greens fairly good but course design borders on the ridiculous. Needs a proper redesign to make the course fair and playable. Silly thick rough areas, no signage on tees...Way overpriced... Go somewhere else .

This is one golf course you really must play while on the Sunshine Coast. A tricky little course with superb greens. A good mix of Par 3,4 & 5 holes. Friendly staff and great value for money

Played this course recently as part of a social club golf weekend away. If you're a keen golfer, take the drive up to this little gem. The course is fantastic and the scenery is sublime. This is a course where you need to think about your shot. Don't just take out the driver and blast away. The kikuya grass is evil. As one local said "if you can't find your ball in the first 20 seconds, give up looking". The greens are undulating but run true and great to putt on. It is similar to a links course so bump and runs are effective. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend this course to anyone. Can't speak highly enough of the time and effort put into preparing this little diamond of a course. We will be back. Thanks for the hospitality.

My partner and I went on a 2 week golfing holiday and found this little gem. On our way to the course we picked up coffees in Maleny and bumped into the Captain. Nice chat and he set the excitement levels up for our round of golf. Very challenging course with such friendly staff. The local bird life took exception to our presence by swooping us which added to the fun. The sloping fairways kept us honest with our drives and we had a lot of laughs. Certainly enjoyed a cold one looking out over the course afterwards with the beautiful views from the club house.

I was part of a social group who almost all detested the 3 foot high long grass set up , to have you drive trickle 1 foot into this grass and not find your ball is frutrating in the least, we will not be returning until this is changed. I played here 3 years ago when it was 9 holes and enjoyed playing, but not now, Pros might like it but if you want to appeal to regular players you need to keep this grass to 4 inches Ed bertram, 0418753363

I had the opportunity to play this course after months of trying to get there. I was not disappointed at all. The staff are very friendly and the green fees are very reasonable. The use of long thick grass in the rough adds to the challenge of an undulating course in the true links style. Given the restrictions currently in place we could only play in pairs but that was no problem. The course is a community project and the care that they have put into the course is evident. I would definitely recommend the trip up the Blackall Range to visit the town of Maleny as well. This course will be on my list of favourite and challenging course from now on.

Decided to experience this golf course whic has been recently upgraded to a full 18 holes. Unfortunately it did not even come close to meeting my expectations. The greens are reasonable, but the fairways, the tee boxes and tha pathways are very sub standard as are the facilities. Would not play again and would not recommend

Maleny golf club has just opened up its last few holes to now be the full 18. It’s rated a or 68 but don’t let that fool you. As a golfer of over 40 years and playing off a hcp of 2, I can tell you that this little course will blow your socks off. Mint condition fairways with good size greens that require your attention. It is very hilly so take your own ride in cart or hire one from the Pro shop. You could walk it, but if your fitness isn’t up to scratch you may struggle a bit. As it’s only a relatively new club, the main facilities don’t offer much in the way of food etc, but I’m sure this is something that will be corrected over time when they have their clubhouse built etc etc. definitely worth the effort.

Picturesque and very playable. Facilities are yet basic for what is a new club but it's developing rapidly and getting better all the time.
