Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The views out to the glass house mountains are spectacular, we were staying in Maleny so did not have to make a special trip to take in the views. but having said that it would be worth a trip, The sunshine coast hinterland is beautiful and there is plenty of other things to see while you are here. I think the road is part of the Blackall range tourist drive, but if not there are plenty of scenic drives in the area.

Yes, another spot in the Maleny area where you can get great views of the Glass House Mountains & surrounding countryside. Recommended 'don't miss it' for anyone visiting the area, and it's right there on the side of the road, all for free! We take all our interstate & overseas visitors up there from Brisbane for a day's outing.

Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, mountains through to the Coral sea. Looking out over Caloundra, Mooloolaba and Mount Coolum and talking to other people enjoying the view was a lovely stopover for 1/2 an hour. Picnic tables are available for a picnic lunch and it is not a steep walk so everyone can enjoy this beautiful view

Discovered this lookout by chance. Rewarded with a glorious sunset as storm clouds rolled in from coastline.

After a beautiful drive up the range we got to the lookout. It was a breathtaking view and you could see clearly all the peaks. We could have stayed there all day just watching the landscape

We were not aware of the view that suddenly appeared, we could have stood all day just gazing out at the wonderful scene, worth driving just to see this.

Yes you could easily run a wheelchair off the car ramp and over to the edge of the lookout

Is there any BBQ facilities over there? Planning to go with kids. Please let me know your comments.

My reply was going to be pretty much the same as answer above. There are no toilet facilities at McCarthys, and just a basic, but nice, picnic area. It's a very small lookout..
