I have read with interest some of the reviews and agree that the ranger only stayed with us for around 15 minutes after we arrived at the lake site. Well that was exactly what he had explained would happen. As we went down to the...More

If you just want to see the platypus then yes but be patient and your guide leaves after 30 mins but you can stay as long as you want. Don't expect to go fishing as it is only one group at a time, then there...More

We arrived at the spot at 4 Pm. A young guy was the ranger. He told us what we could see in the upcoming hour. Alas, we did not see a platypus at all. The boy left after 10 minutes while it was a one-hour...More

We wish to clear up some misconceptions you may be under here. The Platypus Viewing is not a 1 hour event, but is a guided viewing session where the ranger escorts you to the Platypus viewing area, and gives a talk about what to expect,...More

We went to quite a few places where there was a chance of spotting platypuses in the wild, but this was the only place on our trip where we saw any, and we had around a dozen sightings here, which we were very happy with....More

Glad you enjoyed your visit and the food. Yes many people have high expectations, and the reality of actually seeing the Platypus in the wild can be 'disappointing' to some as they may be expecting a 'Zoo' style viewing or what you might see in...More

Really nice place which allows you to sleep in the same park (with our campervan) as the platypuses. There are ~8 spots on a large area, so not crowded at all. They have a great passion for this unique creature. (The food at the Smokehouse...More

You are welcome anytime between 9am and 4pm. Platypus viewing takes place every half hour. Our ranger, Garth will take you to the platypus lake and tell you about the platypus. I wish you a good day.
