There are few experiences that are more peaceful as spending time in a Butterfly house. Its nice and quiet and the butterflies float around in the most gentle way. If you are lucky and still , they will land on you. There are plenty of...More

We visited to butterfly sanctuary and Fiona, our guide was informative and friendly. Plenty of buterfly's around. You only need about 30 minutes and the $20 entry is a bit steep.

There are hundreds of beautiful butterflies fluttering all through the air. Very lovely to look at. I enjoyed watching the workers in the open lab transferring caterpillars. It is very small, though, and really only takes about 10 minutes.

Cool experience of the butterflies landing on us. However at times we had to look for them. We were out within half an hour. No toilet inside. A few informational posters about.

Very comprehensive collection of Australian butterflies housed in a sanctuary with a number of beautiful live specimens. Great to see and observe the butterflies and there is a gift shop as well. A nice component of any tour to Kuranda.

How labor intensive is it to 'breed' butterflies? Is it expensive to set up a butterfly sanctuary? What sort of capital would be required to start one up?
