Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

THIRD time I've been to Julia creek to see the Dunnart and the third time i've been fed some BS excuse as to why it isn't there. This time the excuse was that the Dunnart was "ON HOLIDAYS BECAUSE IT'S TOO HOT" But they wouldn't tell me where so I could go there too. I won't be back!

Hi TrippyBee20, We are sorry to hear of your experience. At the time if your visit, the dunnarts were actually most unwell and subsequently died (from old age). Something that is very stressful for our team who get quite attached to them over their 3 to 4 years with us - by the way they live to 18 months in the wild. Sorry no BS there - just some very sad handlers. You will be pleased to know that we have since obtained two more dunnarts from our awesome partners at the University of Queensland and it's business as usual if you would care to give us another chance. Thanks, Georgia

Fantastic new facilities which was very informative. The layout is great with air conditioned rooms where you can sit and watch videos of various aspects and activities around Julia Creek. The bathroom facilities, wifi, feeding the dunnarts (must book), the lovely lady in the centre ‘Michelle’ was very knowledgeable and helpful for activities and accomodation at Julia creek and surrounding towns. The first patch of green grass we had seen in days in the centre which was nice to sit in.

Stopped in for info on the roads and weather to charters towers. The surrounding area of the info building is lovely from the Banjo Patterson fountain to the leaf seating and nearby theatre presentation of local history. See the Dunnart!!

Julia Creek is a pretty little town located 137km East of Cloncurry, heading along the Flinders Highway towards Richmond and the "Dinosaur Triangle."

We stop at all visitor centres along our travels as the staff are always friendly and provide great information on things to do, see and where to eat.

You must stop and see the "beneath the creek" attraction and view the nocturnal house with the iconic little Dunnart that lives here.
There is also a nice little museum and shop.

This visitor centre is very well presented.
A good mix of Artefacts, Photo's & 'The Julia Creek Dunnart'. He is fed at 10a.m. most days, well worth spending 20 minutes watching him in action.
The staff were very friendly & informative.

One of the friendliest centres we have visited. Nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a virtual reality experience of helicopter mustering, and were fascinated by the feeding of the Dunnart, a tiny mouse-like marsupial found in the area. Definitely a place to visit.

A very friendly and informative Information Centre, they knew the town inside out; the 'feel' is that a very friendly community👍🏼🥇👏🏻! We were given guidance and directions on every key point in the town. The Centre had free WiFi hot spots and audio and video information.
They have done a brilliant job promoting this little town on 'the black soil plains' with the 'gift of the GAB' (Great Artesian Basin).

We were greeted warmly and told the Dunnart feeding was minutes away. While waiting we viewed a DVD in the small auditorium. This is an excellent centre and a gem in this small town
