About Snapping Tours
Come on board Snapping Tours and experience the world heritage listed wet tropics. Our tours provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the history and biodiversity of the Innisfail area, together with spotting an abundance of wildlife that call the Johnstone River home. Wildlife you will spot include salt water crocodiles, many bird species and turtles. Our tour guides will take you on a two hour journey around the Johnstone River, so you can experience the beautiful scenery and take a closer look at life above and beneath the waters of the Johnstone River. We have a very keen eye for spotting crocodiles in their natural habitat. They will either be lurking beneath the waters or sunning themselves on the sandbanks. Either way, it is a spectacular sight! During the tours, our tour guides will also check crab pots in the hope of seeing wild caught mud crabs, as well as explaining their general features and their habitat. Complementary drinks and light snacks are available on

During the Art Deco festival in Innisfail we went on both cocktail cruises, and they were a highlight of the festival, especially the Saturday night. Stuff were great, drinks were delicious but it would have been nice to be warned to bring our own nibbles. The river is beautiful and it’s a great way to see parts of the town you wouldn’t otherwise. Highly recommended!

What a great morning with Brenton and Jai as our guides. The tour was packed with local, history and environmental information. How these guys can spot a set of croc eyes sticking out of the water is amazing. We were lucky to spot a few smaller crocs and one large fella. Best value for small dollars we have done in our travels so far. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see 🐊 in their own habitat. Thanks guys.

Awesome day out on the river, lovely weather and great local knowledge. Loved the local description of “last years models” being the young crocs, how they spotted the small crocs was pretty amazing. A day well spent.
