About
Come on board Snapping Tours and experience the world heritage listed wet tropics. Our tours provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the history and biodiversity of the Innisfail area, together with spotting an abundance of wildlife that call the Johnstone River home. Wildlife you will spot include salt water crocodiles, many bird species and turtles. Our tour guides will take you on a two hour journey around the Johnstone River, so you can experience the beautiful scenery and take a closer look at life above and beneath the waters of the Johnstone River. We have a very keen eye for spotting crocodiles in their natural habitat. They will either be lurking beneath the waters or sunning themselves on the sandbanks. Either way, it is a spectacular sight! During the tours, our tour guides will also check crab pots in the hope of seeing wild caught mud crabs, as well as explaining their general features and their habitat. Complementary drinks

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our sunset cruise was cancelled at 7am on the day of the cruise, this was very disappointing as we had arranged overnight accommodation just to do the cruise so we took the offer of the 2pm tour the following day, the staff were friendly and helpful especially Emma, we did see crocs, This trip would have been more enjoyable had we been given a little information on the area

It is a nice trip with a boat through the river and creeks near Innisfail. At our trip we saw 6 crocodiles during the 2 hour tour. The captain / tour guide tould us a lot of details of crocodiles.

Nice trip to see some crocodiles. Unfortunately there was plenty of rain the whole day and also some on the tour, so there were only two baby and one adult crocodile.
The informations the guide gave were interesting but sometimes very hard to understand for us germans. That could be a point to work on.

Our guide Vince was humorous & knowledgeable about the river & its inhabitants be they animal or vegetable. We spotted 9 crocodiles on our relaxing cruise down to the mouth of the river. Even in the occasional shower of rain the view didn't fail to disappoint & the complimentary drink just added to the pleasure of our afternoon boating adventure.

My 3 kids, hubby and myself had an amazing time on our snapping tour on Friday 7th July . There was plenty to see 3 to 4 crocs and the guides were funny and informative and even engaged with the kids on board .
And to top it off the first beer/wine on board was free. Highly recommend

We’re visiting from the UK and booked the tour online.
Leaving in sufficient time (as advised by Google maps not knowing the area) we called the company on route to advise we unknowingly hit roadworks, a train stop and subsequent heavy traffic meaning the GPS was estimating a 5 minute delay.
We were told that either the boat was there or it wasn’t and after a long hour and an half drive we arrived at 2:06 in time to watch the boat and $180 sail away.
Whilst we appreciate this is a small business and we were late we did everything we could to get there on time and there was no flexibility to work with people who really don’t know the area. Very disappointed.

I was well impressed with the guides knowledge of not only the river and all that reside there but also various historic facts about Innisfail itself. It was not guaranteed that we would see any crocs but were very fortunate to see three smaller crocs along the way.

Beautiful cruise during the Feast of the Senses in late March.
Calm waters travelling along the river.
We were lucky enough to spot a crocodile amongst the mangroves on the river banks and Brenton slowed the boat and gave us plenty of time for everyone to view it.
Vince gave a lot of very interesting information about the river, Innisfail and it’s history.
Drinks were available from the on-board bar at reasonable prices.
We are very keen to return and try the sunset cruise that Vince mentioned.
