About
The Mossman Gorge Centre is an Indigenous eco tourism development that will better serve visitors to the Mossman Gorge World Heritage site. Mossman Gorge provides one of Australia’s most iconic Aboriginal experiences in Tropical North Queensland and is the perfect option for visitors looking for genuine, authentic engagement with Indigenous Australia. At the Mossman Gorge Centre you will find an array of services to help you organise your adventure through the Gorge. Staff at the Visitor Information desk will assist you in planning your route around the Gorge, as well as book your Dreamtime Walk. Plan your route over a coffee at the café or peruse the art gallery, a pleasure that might have more relevance after hearing about the Dreamtime stories from the Kuku Yalanji people. An eco-friendly, low emission shuttle bus is available from the Mossman Gorge Centre to the heart of the Gorge. A “must do” for every visitor to Mossman Gorge are the Indigenous guided Dreamtime Walks, conducted by the traditional owners of the Gorge, the Kuku Yalanji people. Ngadiku (Nar-di-gul) meaning stories and legends from a long time ago in local Kuku Yalanji language, takes you on a journey along private, easy graded tracks, visiting special places and culturally significant sites, past traditional bark shelters and over meandering cool rainforest streams.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We loved participating in a Ngadiku Dreamtime Walk. We would like to thank the Kuku Yalandji people for choosing to share their culture and special places through these insightful tours. It’s a great experience for international tourists and locals alike, our family visiting from abroad loved the walk through the forest and the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Kuku Yalandji people’s connection to Country.
After the tour you can be dropped at the National Park entrance to meander along the Mossman River at your own pace.
I would highly recommend this to everyone visiting the area! It’s a great way to learn more, spend time in nature and show your support for local Indigenous people.

We visited Mossman Gorge as a large adult family group.
Our guide, Ben, made us all feel welcome. He is a knowledgeable and interesting guide with a good approach to sharing information and answering questions.
We walked the long self-guide track after the guided tour and enjoyed the whole experience.

We’ve done this tour 3 times. Once before kids and twice with kids. So great every time. Last time we had Tom and this time Ben, who is his grandson. They were both amazing and brought their own approach to it. The kids were fully engaged and the guides were welcoming of their questions and participation. They were so generous in sharing their knowledge and stories. The place is beautiful. Such a powerful experience. I would recommend it to anyone.

We did the indigenous cultural tour and had an amazing experience. Our Guide Levi was fantastic, engaging, friendly and very knowledgeable. Levi shared personal experiences and stories which made the trip unforgettable. Our children (7,11,13) loved the tour and learned so much about aboriginal culture. Thanks Levi.

Levi our guide was delightful. He was authentic, passionate and a brilliant communicator. We felt incredibly lucky for his generosity in sharing beautiful First Nation stories about healing, learning and communication. Thank you Levi and the Kuku Yalanji people. This is a must do but watch out for the wait a minute.

We thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour around the beautiful rainforest, learning about the different trees, fauna and flora, as well as the Aboriginal culture and traditions. The tea and damper was a nice touch. The smoking ceremony was moving. Our guide was wonderful, informative and so knowledgeable. An authentic, excellent and educational experience.

This was an excellent, very enjoyable tour. Our young local indigenous guide (sorry but have forgotten his name) was terrific - full of good humour as well as information about the rainforest and local tribal lore. After a welcoming smoking ceremony we had a bushwalk through the rainforest, with our guide pointing out hazards like stinging leaves and 'wait-a-while' vines as well as some important ceremonial sites for the local Aborigines. Finished the walk at a beautiful stretch of the river, then returned to 'base' via the same route for billy tea and damper.
There is also an excellent, well-stocked souvenir shop at the Tour Centre as well as a small art gallery.
