About
The Butter Factory Arts Centre is run by the Cooroy Future Group as an exhibition, workshop and events venue, which also includes a separate pottery studio. There is also an artist run cooperative gift shop of handmade items including pottery, jewellery, cards, and much more. The Butter Factory Arts Centre aims to provide a friendly and supportive environment to both new and established artists working in any media, and welcomes exhibition proposals from artists, collectives and curators for group or solo exhibitions in several available gallery spaces. We are committed to aiding artists in their experimentation and growth, as well as bringing exciting work to the public. The gallery strives to create a sense of community amongst both exhibitors and viewers; a place where the arts are accessible and dynamic. The Butter Factory Arts Centre is staffed and assisted by Cooroy Future Group volunteers.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We came here twelve years ago and returning now it was pleasing to see that this lovely little community facility continues to thrive. indeed with potters and woodworkers studios now to be seen, it seems to be growing in stature. It's not hiigh art and all the better for that. So if your in the Noosa area, and particularly if you're at the Eumundi market just down the road, then you should visit Cooroy for coffee or lunch and to have a look at this excellent community arts hub.

I came to Cooroy recently and had a walk through the Butter Factory Arts space. It was mostly for nostalgia, as I came here many times in the early 2000s for arts workshops and music gigs (local bands such as Mettaphor & Blue House) and I was happy to see it still standing & mostly unchanged. The venue still thrives with regular exhibitions, pottery workshops and guest performing artists, which is great to see.

Portraits by James Strickland amongst the best I have every viewed anywhere in the world.
“Am I Fine?” Was simply captivating,
Artisan works for sale in the shop were of a very high quality and fairly priced. Leather earrings were stunning.
Beautifully repurposed building used to great effect.
High recommend an hour or two well spent on a cloudy day - and don’t forget a quick wander over the rail bridge adjacent to reminisce about days gone by!

Great selection of artworks by local artists.
Pottery market soon on 7th December. There are also workshops there to learn how to do crafts with a shop exhibiting the work of local artists.

During our visit there was a glass artists work on display, Sylvia Free. Just a wonderfully display in a setting that accompanies the works of the painter Cliff Bauer on the walls. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable and the galleries rooms enhance the works on display. Culturally uplifting. A must visit.

A small local art gallery but definitely not a butter factory! The exhibition was not to my taste but my husband loved it. Great little shop on the way out & staff were very friendly.
