Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The quality of the paintings, jewellery and other aboriginal artefacts is high. We were surprised by the prices of the everything in the gallery as it seemed to be cheaper than art displayed in larger towns in the region. Very knowledgeable staff who could relate the stories behind the paintings and in some instances were related to the artists. The have resumes of every artist on display and you can take copies away with you. We ended up buying three paintings. The gallery arranged the packing and insurance to send the artwork back to Perth.

The art gallery had an interesting display of art paintings, jewlery and woodcarvings. The opportunity to see aboriginal art by local artists was very rewarding.

A well presented gallery displaying high quality art and jewellery items by various indigenous artists. Many pieces in varying colours and meanings. Staff are efficient and helpful and happy for you to browse. Prices are reasonable. A gallery of this standard is an asset to Cooktown and it is well worth a visit.

Compared with other aboriginal art shops, this shop has good quality items and interesting jewelary, whereas the prices are not extremely high as compared to other (subsidised) aboriginal art galleries.

Irene and the other artist there (whose name escapes me due to Old Folks' disease) were very helpful. To be honest, some of the art seemed to be a bit hackneyed but there were also some gems well worth seeing. Definitely worth a visit - and no undue sales pressure...

A wide range of jewellery and Indigenous art produced by local artists. The staff are really friendly. If you wish to buy Indigenous Art but it from a local gallery that supports it's artists.

I'd say this was better than average because the prices are good and there's reasonable range including fabrics and jewelry. The people there were friendly and helpful about local sights too.

Small gallery with good quality contemporary and traditional artwork (and jewelry too) by local indigenous people. The prices were very reasonable too.

Popped in and was empressed with the standard of art and jewellery. The sale of art supports the local indigenous community. The staff were so helpful and happy to talk about the local artists. I think this is a must to visit if your in Cooktown.
