What a grand place this was in it's heyday. The building has been restored and of course some modern touches added. We had a couple of lunches here with a cooling breeze made for a very pleasant afternoon.

The facade is interesting and is evidence of the glory days of the past. Now inside the arcade there are lots of tables and chairs and a very popular restaurant. At the front is a popular bakery.

Charters Towers region was very wealthy in its gold rush era and had its own Stock Exchange. The original arcade has been retained and quite impressive

The architecture here is beautiful & so is the story behind the building plenty of sinage boards to explain an by gone era worth a look when visiting the area
