I just love the wet tropics. the vegetation is so different to SE QLD. The walk was easy and accessible to everyone. Absolutely recommend it.

This is a magnificent boardwalk through rainforest and mangrove swamp. It would be hard to find a better walk with this combination of trees and plants. If you stop for a while you can see and hear birds, crabs and insects.

This is a perfect walk to do when in the Daintree. It is short, peaceful and relaxing and fully encapsulates “rainforest meets the sea” aspect of the Daintree. The beginning (starting the circuit from the left) is tropical rainforest and skirts beautiful Oliver Creek (my friend, whose son is Oliver, spotted a family of 3 cassowaries crossing the creek). It then moves into mangrove territory as the circuit becomes boardwalk & heads closer to the ocean. It was here I saw a cassowary trekking through the muddy mangroves (at a safe distance). It was an epic thing to witness and the plant life and diversity is off the charts.

Take your time on this walk as there are numerous species of birds to listen to and plenty of butterflies to look out for.
We found at least a dozen different types of fruits with a myriad of colours. Not edible, but comforted in the knowledge that our rainforest wildlife are being fed by mother nature.

A worthwhile stop on the way to Cape Tribulation, it's about half an hour's drive north of Mossman. There's a decent sized carpark at the start of the walk. The walk itself would take around half an hour if you rushed it, but there's lots of lovely trees and many different varieties to see that you'd need a solid hour at least to see everything. The mangroves were quite fascinating too. Definitely a must see stop.

What a great small walk to do with such amazing sights of unique trees. We even saw a cassowary here which was a great highlight!

Commencing at a parking lot on the main Daintree access road, the Boardwalk provides an easy but beautiful rainforest walk.
Allow 1-2 hours for an enjoyable experience.
