Was a bit reluctant to shell our the fee, but it turned out to be a very interesting, informative and educational afternoon. Plain, direct and in unpretentious manner we were introduced to exotic fruit and the history of the family run plantation in Cape Tribulation. If you are at all interested in botany or fruit in general, highly recommended.

Thank you Sam, Merran and the rest of the crew. We appreciated your generous personalities, helpfulness and the history of your family tropical fruit farm. We would totally recommend staying here to experience Queensland at its best. The food supplies were generous and delicious, the outside kitchen was a first for me but had everything we needed to self cater for three days. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was spotless. Also do the fruit tasting which is on most afternoons over the high season. You will need to book. You will not be disappointed and we got to learn more about the challenges of operating a tropical fruit farm across three generations. All the best to you all, do get in touch if you ever make it to Wellington. Thanks for everything.

Absolutely gorgeous cottages set amongst the orchard. We stayed for three nights. Very quiet and peaceful. Excellent king size bed. Spotlessly clean. Loved the area for self catering. The provisions provided for breakfast were very generous. The exotic fruit platter was huge and delicious. Lovely family. Couldn’t fault it.

Beautiful relaxing stay in a immaculately clean and lovely little cabin situated in a private setting amongst the tropical fruit trees.
Sam was very helpful and was happy to share his knowledge of the local area.
The tropical fruit breakfast was delicious and the outdoor dining area was lovely, Sam was happy to explain all the different fruits.
(Toast and cereal was also available with homemade tropical fruit jams to choose from).
The “Whet” restaurant just down the road was an amazing place to eat.
In all this was a very relaxing and memorable stay, we would definitely stay again.

Fabulous hospitality from Merryn and Jeremy and oh so relaxing. Even if you can't manage a stay in the excellent cabins on the farm, the fruit farm tour is really worthwhile.

This should definitely be on your 'to do' list while in the area. We were lucky to try many fruits that we'd never heard of or seen before, and they were delicious. Thus was a very friendly and informative tour. Highly recommend +++

You won’t regret the chance to taste 10 different exotic fruits that are otherwise unobtainable. Jeremy and his wife were great hosts and full of information!
Don’t eat lunch first!
After you taste these unusual and delicious fruits, you get a tour of the grounds. What a wonderful afternoon!

This is a fantastic and informative tropical fruit tasting tour. The farm owner Jeremy first gives you a great presentation on tropical fruits - the variety, growing conditions and also his family history in establishing the farm. During this you are given a wide range of different fruits to taste, served by his wife who provides a tasting tray and water to ensure a clean palate for each fruit in the tasting selection. Nearly all of them exotic with unique flavours. He is a great presenter - very relaxed and knowledgeable. He also adds some comments about the history of cultivation of some of the fruits.
Then he takes you on a guided walk through the plantation where you get to see a number of the trees and fruits being grown. He is very happy to field questions and is a really friendly and enjoyable guide. I really recommend this experience if you are heading up to Cape Tribulation. Just make sure you book in advance as the tours get sold out quickly.

The fruit tasting is a fantastic experience. Merran is so passionate and knowledgeable about the produce they grow on the farm. The variety of exotic fruit is amazing and their approach to organic, regenerative farming is so impressive. We did this tour as part of our 3 night stay at the farm which we absolutely loved. I couldn't recommend this tour or the farm highly enough.

Why is this wasting everyone's time. If the business is not open for public tasting, it is wasting precious time of travellers. Can Trip Advisor respond please?

Hi. I heard a rumour that this tour no longer runs? Hope it's not true... My family of 5 are coming up from Adelaide in April and would love to do this tasting and tours as we know very little about tropical fruits.

Yes we have sold. I have asked trip advisor to remove the listing, but they are not responding. Cape trib farmstay will be doing tastings about 3 times a week.
