Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Such big wind, such big waves.
And there was no rock pools, but the only good things were, there were corals to pick on the beach (but dead) and there was a swing, lots of lovely birds, and there was a shady place to sit. et.eating place

A great little spot and a must visit when in Bowen. Stunning views, the water is turquoise blue and quite spectacular. There is a little cafe near the beach. Well worth the drive!

Stayed a couple of nights on a powered van site. Not cement, but roomy. Quiet enough, okay location. The pool is very old, not cleaned & has no shade. No deck chairs. The shower was dirty, although a massive sign saying 'Always Shower Before You Enter the Pool or Spa". Tiles cracked & sand in the spa. Nice little coffee shop by the Beach. Nicer places to stay in Bowen.

We were amazed at how pretty this little bay was. Quite a bit of parking available, a nice grassy area and then the sandy beach and beautiful bay encircled with rocky outcrops. There was a cafe close by to buy coffee or lunch.
Take the walk up to the lookout for spectacular views!

Third time we've visited this qauint little beach, love it! Most days has not been overly crowded, water clear & place clean! Plenty of shady spots to spend hours taking in the views and sunshine. *Bonus* cafe right at your fingertips and a lovely hill walk. Can spend a whole day there, just so relaxing & enjoyable!

This little bay is simply a paradise, the view is magnificent. We just happened upon this spot and had a magnificent lunch at the cove which serves fabulous Asian cuisine. Highly recommend a stop or stay in this beautiful part of the world.

We wish we had more time in Bowen as we didn't realise how beautiful it was. If you are staying in Bowen, even overnight, make sure you stay at one of the resorts on the beach.
This bay is beautiful with crystal clear waters and the temp is perfect.

Best place to Snorkel is between Coral Cove and Rose Bay. The shallow rocky shores have some of the best coral and fish varieties I have seen along the barrier reef.

Horseshoe Bay was one of our best snorkel-experiences in Australia. The beach was quiet and friendly with a nice café and campground (where you can hire your snorkelling gear! Including stinger-suits). My advice is to particularly snorkel on the left side of the beach. The marine life was awesome and the water crystal clear. The water was 29 degrees (january) and very calm so you are not afraid to venture out a bit in the bay.

We stayed here on our first night travelling down from cairns to Sydney, had driven most of day and was really tired, we ended up opting for a fantastic beach hut looking direct on to beach......fantastic setting, we had a meal and wine on balcony, very romantic and just what I needed after a long day, loved it and just wished we were staying longer. Would love to return someday.

The caravan park hires and sells snorkling gear and stinger suits. We hired for the day but I think you can hire by the hour as well. You'll find the shop entrance opposite the first carpark you see, as you enter the bay. If you find yourself in the cafe you've gone too far.

If I were in that area I would go to Airlie Beach for New Year or head north to Cairns.
