Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were in Blackall on 9th September. After having issues at the Woolscour, we had plenty of time to fill in, so spoke to a lady at the Information Centre (name unknown) who was very helpful. She asked what sort of things we liked, marking places of interest on a map of Blackall. Thanks to her, we had a great afternoon wandering around this lovely town.

Whilst it's undoubtedly a great library, this is easily the poorest Visitor Information Centre I've ever visited, and I've seen some poor ones. It's always my first port of call, like it is for many travellers. It looks like a hurried after thought in a small corner in the library. No one at the little desk, a few brochures and a couple of poor option souvenirs, all tucked in a tiny corner. No card facilities, cash only, so make sure you have some, though there's not much there anyway. The librarian lady at the other desk tried hard and helped me out, but seriously, a town with that much history deserves better. Towns much smaller have put a lot more effort into their Visitor Centre. Very, very disappointing.

The staff here are a delight. So helpful. Unfortunately the main reason I stopped in Blackall was to visit the last operating steam powered wool scour. It was closed due to an electrical problem. I was instead directed to Ram Park, a free open air museum. I joined the second half of a guided tour being led by a lovely old gent who could well have been a display item himself. He was a fount of knowledge and retailed with wonderful anecdotes.

Ram Park and the Blackall Information Centre has everything from tourist information to there own little history display and all is well maintained.

Blackall is a nice little town which is clean and tidy and has a lot to offer anyone visiting.
The Jackie Howe Statue, The Black Stump, and The Woolscour are just a few.

While in Blackall we stayed at The Blackall Caravan Park and was very good.

We travelled from the Gold Coast and stopped at most of the information centres along the way. This was by far one of the best. With lots of things to see and do it was nice to catch up on the local history in a very informative way. The lady we spoke with was friendly and very helpful. There are many brochures to choose from. With clean toilets and some sheltered seating you can sit and have your lunch or just rest a while.

Very helpful staff that will tell you all you need to know. Pay here for the camp over the road $8.00 per vehicle per night.

A good selection of old buildings with some very interesting displays. Set in ram park it is on the western edge of the town with ample street parking for even the largest caravan or motor home.

"Welcome" is an under statement with the reception we received at the Blackall visitor centre. The staff were willing to help with all the information we needed and the smiles are a sight for sore eyes after a long days drive.
The people we met in town were also friendly and really welcoming. Make sure you stop by at the "Black Stump".

We had no time to stay but will definably be back to explore the Blackall area soon.

Well done Blackall.

This is the first place you should go to when going to Blackall, complete with static displays of old machinery, photos and memorabilia it gives you an idea of how the town and district was established. There are numerous displays set-up in this park giving you a great idea of how people lived in a bygone era

The free walk around VIC Ram Park at 10 am is well worth the effort.
Stories and historical information shared by presenter Stewie was first class and entertaining. Don,t take everything said as gospel though.
Working exhibits are well put together, plenty of other displays to look at as well. All free of charge. Blackall is a great friendly little town well worth a stop.
