I had a bucket list of birds to photograph on my trip to Yungaburra, so I hooked up with Patrick who was absolutely fantastic. I contacted Patrick before my trip, who did all the research and identified the best locations. The weather wasn’t the kindest for photography, but Patrick found alternative locations to help me out. Nothing was a problem and his local knowledge was a great advantage. I would highly recommend if travelling to the tablelands.

This was my second trip with Patrick, he is an excellent wildlife guide. This time we went up through Mareeba to Mt Lewis. We saw dozens of new birds for me, as well as snakes, Boyd's forest dragon and green ringtail possum. Patrick went the extra mile to help me find some of the endemic bird species I wanted to photograph including Atherton scrubwren, fernwren and Bower's shrikethrush. Also got some great pictures of old favourites like blue-faced parrotfinches and black-throated finches. Patrick is very experienced, knowledgeable and has all the gear needed. Will book again if I get the chance.

Patrick (the tour guide) picked us up from our accommodation in Atherton with his 4WD and he drove us to 3 different locations where we could show many species of nocturnal animals (tree-kangaroos, 5 species of possums, 2 species of gliders, 2 species of geckos...). He provided us good quality binoculars so we could watch in detail those animals that were a bit far in the trees (one binocular each!). Patrick also provided good information and facts about the animals, making the tour and the driving very interesting for all of us. We could feel that he was very passionate about his job because he was not in a hurry at all, making the tour even a bit longer than expected so we could enjoy more and spot some extra animals. If we ever come back to Atherton, we would repeat the experience with no doubt.

We went on a half day birding tour from Cairns and saw a wide variety of birds including owls, frogmouths, sandpipers and sunbirds (to mention just a few), how Patrick spotted those little kingfishers I'll never know... Great communication, prompt pickup and dropoff at our hotel and and a friendly knowledgeable guide made it a lovely day out and a nice change after the large group tours to the reef. We would highly recommend and will do another tour with Patrick when we're next in the area.

My husband I went on one of Patrick’s Nocturnal tours whilst we were staying in Yungaburra. He picked us up from our accommodation, there was another couple also on the trip. We saw 2 Tree Kangaroos, 5 different Possums, including a Long Tailed Pigmy Possum and 2 species of Geckos. Patrick uses a red light to see the eye shine then a thermal imaging camera to identify what it is. This protects the wildlife from bright lights. Very professional, a really nice guy. Definitely recommended.
