    An overpriced activity in Daylesford
It's a relaxing spot to unwind and let the stress of travel fade away .... BUT .. it is not cheap. $58 for singles and $42 for seniors will get you just over and hour and a half of warm mineral spa water to relax in. For those with more money $120 for singles will get you the same time but no children under 16 in a separate part of the complex. It's not cheap but it is relaxing
Dear Vacation61119256942, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that you were able to relax and let your stress fade away. We hope to welcome you again soon. Warm regards, Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa

    Expensive, unfriendly, dirty and disappointing.
This is over priced and definitely not a high end or luxury experience. We paid $120 per person for 90 minutes. The reception staff were stressed (forgivable I guess given it was Easter long weekend and busy). The change rooms and showers are uni- sex and dated and dirty. Baskets were heaped and overflowing with used towels and robes. Shower I used had hair and a slimy hair band on the floor. (Take flip flops - I wouldn’t walk barefoot). The pools were ok, heated, aromatherapy, salted, sauna and chilled pools. Windows had cobwebs and dirty and view is just fallen trees, mud and weeds. “Refreshments” were water and an apple. When we were leaving four staff members didn’t acknowledge us, say goodbye or thanks for coming. Just unprofessional for the price. It was a very expensive and disappointing experience.
Dear 206danif, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry that your recent visit did not live up to your expectations. If you wish to talk to one of our team member directly please send us an email to reservations@hepburnbathhouse.com. Thank you again. We look forward to talking to you. Warm regards,

    Relaxing Experience
We had a very good experience at the Sanctuary today. I was a little nervous having read some of the reviews on here, but it was not crowded at all. We arrived at 12:30 and there was plenty of space. We didn’t feel cramped or rushed at all. It was clean and relaxing. Also, the change rooms are mixed gender, but all of the showers, changing stalls, and toilets are single stall and lock. No complaints from us.

I purchased a Private Mineral Bath and received a complimentary Bathhouse voucher. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and I was taken on a tour of the facility the day prior when I stopped in to book visit times. Staff recommended I visit in the morning when they open as it's very quiet. I did and only a few people were there when I arrived, mostly going into the Sanctuary. At one point I had the whole Bathhouse pool and Spa next to it to myself! It was amazing soaking in the warmth of the water whilst looking out the large glass windows at the Trees. So if you prefer less people visit early in the day. When I returned later that afternoon for my private mineral bath, the Bathhouse was full of people. The private bath was wonderful. SO relaxing and the Mud was soft and fun to rub into myself after my strenuous morning of horse riding. A locker was provided for my personal items with a separate room to change. Following the bath I showered in a private room to clean off all the mud and wash my hair. I also received a Spa Gift with the purchase of my voucher. Note: A locker is provided when booking a Private Mineral Bath however lockers are available for $5 if using the Bathhouse/Sanctuary. This is optional however as you can leave your bag alongside the pool area but it was more convenient to use the locker. There were plenty of private areas in the change room as well as toilet facilities. Amazing day and I felt so relaxed.

We booked 2 massages @$189 each 3 weeks ago. I immediately sent an email to request a female therapist as a male was assigned . 9 days later, I got an email saying they couldn’t accommodate the request even though I had given considerable amount of time for them to arrange this. The email that I sent was in addition to dozens of phone calls where I was put into a holding loop for eternity and numerous phone messages that I managed to leave , pleading begging for someone to call were never returned.
I cancelled the booking by email and by phone messages , but they were not acknowledged (until yesterday where I received an email response from an email I sent over a week ago)
I tried to book into another day spa at very short notice, and obviously, I couldn’t get in anywhere. Interestingly and not surprising, the lady at the day spa that I rang said “it seems to be a common theme today, I’m getting lots of phone calls from people who are experiencing bad customer service from the Hepburn Bathhouse”.
We decided to physically go to the bathhouse the day before our original booking date to confirm our cancellation and get our refund.
We saw Robert at the front desk and explained the situation. The excuse we were given was that there was only 3 staff and the call centre usually used was no longer being used. This seems to be a similar tired excuse that has been used for some time now that I have read on other reviews for the bathhouse.
We requested a refund immediately and Robert said it would be coming back straight away.
It is now 6 days since we were told the money would be refunded “straight away” and we are still waiting.
I really don’t understand how this business could still be operating.
They really need to get their act together to survive , particularly in these interesting times of COVID-19.
Such a disappointing experience

Where do I start. When I called to book for my partners birthday I was on hold for 45 mins and greeted by a rude staff member. Upon arrival the staff were not friendly they signed us in and gave us no information. There are only 2 pools that’s are a luke warm temperature, it was not relaxing at all. There were toddlers running around and screaming, it honestly had a vibe of an aquatic Center. To pay $55 for this experience is horrible I would never recommend anyone visit these spas your best to go to the Mornington spas.

Hi Grantly thanks very much for your feedback and please accept my apologies for your experience. This is certainly not our intention and information on the experience should certainly have been passed on. The Bathhouse offers you access to the large Mineral Relaxation Pool which is all about absorbing the natural mineral water which includes Magnesium, Silica, Iron, Sulphates, etc, to name a few. The Relaxation Pool is heated to approximately 34 degrees which allows the minerals to be absorbed into your body. Hence it's slightly lower temperature. The Spa Pool is all about rest and relaxation and is heated to approximately 36 degrees. Thanks again for your feedback and please be assured we take this seriously and will discuss with our team. Thanks Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa.

I booked my two friends and I in for the Sanctuary bathing, followed by the Moroccan Remedy Massage. Originally I booked in January for 12 Feb. When booking then there was no mention that there were male massage therapists. I ended up having to reschedule to March after my friend injured herself and when changing the dates I was asked if we were happy to have male massage therapists. I told the lady NO (I definitely wouldn’t be comfortable with that and I didn’t think my friends would be either) and was told “that’s ok, I’ve given you all female ones”.

On the day we were all really looking forward to our afternoon of relaxation. The handful of bathing pools there were ok. $99 is an absolute rip off though. If I compare it to the Peninsula Hot Springs, which costs between $30-$65 for a beautiful atmosphere, lots of different pools, steam room, ice room etc it totally pales in comparison.

While waiting for our massage therapists in the relaxation room there were lots of mosquitoes, which made it very hard to relax!

My main problem was that when it came to the massages I got a male! In hindsight I should have spoken up and told them of their mistake as soon as he came out. I didn’t want to cause a scene, so I just kept my mouth shut. I was totally uncomfortable and tense for the whole massage and just kept wanting it to be over. $189 absolutely wasted! When I politely complained afterwards I was told that there was nothing in the notes that said we didn’t want male massage therapists and that the lady who took my booking should have put it in the notes. He then called the manager and I explained it to her. They were very apologetic and I was offered a voucher for another massage (my friends both really enjoyed their massage) and was told that they would email it to me. That was 11 days ago and no email from them! I am angry at myself the most - for not speaking up when a male massage therapist walked out and then afterwards when I should have demanded a refund. I certainly didn’t have the relaxing afternoon I’d been dreaming about for months!

Nothing more than a over priced public pool,
You can not relax in the bathing area. We paid extra to go in the sanctuary, 2 out of 4 spa couches were working and those that were working are uncomfortable metal chairs with bubbles.
They let too many people in at one time and it is very uncomfortable. Needs a really good clean.
The combined change rooms and lockers weren’t very clean and we weren’t given locker keys, we had to get staff to lock and unlock for us, not very convenient.
Robes aren’t very good for bigger sized people.

Terrible customer service.

I have been calling this place since the beginning of December to try and book in because the online booking system isn’t accepting my gift voucher codes.

I have called more than a dozen times and I have emailed the reservation teams, but heard nothing from their team.

I keep calling their line but I get disconnected after around 40 minutes each time I call.

Their voicemail keep saying you can get a call back but no one calls you.

I was simply wanting to book in for my 30th birthday but I’m forced to just rock up on the day to hope they have some availability.

There is so much to say and I’m not one to ever complain or write a bad review! We had planned this trip since 2020 and it has been a nightmare to deal with this place since then. You have to pay everything up front and if someone cancels they won’t refund you, only put that money into gift vouchers. Every time you call up it’s like the staff have lost the booking and they have no records kept on their system of who paid for what etc. You never get sent a confirmation e-mail so it is hard to know what is going on.

We visited the spa on Saturday the 30th July. I paid $199 for the organic facial which was the world’s worst facial money could buy you, I’m sure of it. The room was completely light & freezing cold. The blinds in the room aren’t even solid so there’s no way you could make them dark to create a relaxing experience. The bed you lay on is cold with hospital sheets on it. The staff who gave me the facial was a man and I’m convinced he has had no training. I don’t mind that he was a man but I feel like they should have at least asked me if this was okay, given the nature of the treatment. The staff left the lights on and I had to ask him to turn them off - you would think a place charging that much would know a lot better. There was no music playing during the treatment and the rooms are in such a loud area you can hear people talking and walking past outside your door. The facial was so basic and the massaging that came with it was pathetic. On the form they get you to fill out before the treatment I had ticked the box that says minimal talking but that was clearly ignored because the staff member continued to talk non stop the whole time!

After our treatments one of the ladies said she would come back to the lounge to get us and take us to show us where to go for the bathing but no one ever came back. We sat there for ages and had to ask someone at the desk what was happening. We paid $110 each for the ‘VIP’ mineral bathing - the most expensive and worst spa you could ever go into. The sauna is only allowed 1 person or 1 couple to go into which was never told to us prior.

The showers near the facial rooms were disgusting. There was mould in the showers and they stunk.

What they charge for what you get is CRIMINAL. The place is so outdated and overpriced it’s a joke. Such a disappointment on so many levels. Will never ever go back to this place and I will tell anyone I know to avoid it.

Visited Spa on 14th April at 12.30pm. I booked for my husband and I for the Sanctuary Experience which from the website was lead to believe we would “enjoy the relaxing and serene environment”.
At a cost of $110 per person I was extremely disappointed in the experience. 30mins into our session a large number of tour of guests/tourists arrived in the Sanctuary all talking loudly, running around and generally occupying all facilities. No attempt was made by these people or the staff to explain the need for the “serene” environment. This made staying in the Sanctuary unacceptable and we retreated to the Bathhouse where once again this large group then filtered into. We eventually left after 60mins.
I think it is totally unacceptable to allow such a large group when there was already other guests and it was a small busy space. It completely ruined the experience for us and I suspect the other guests.
The Sanctuary is too small to have such large groups occupying the facility. I would never have booked if I had known. I have now emailed twice and received no response to
my complaint. In addition windows are filthy so trying to enjoy forest surroundings is impossible Do not recommend

Lovely bathhouse in tranquil setting. Would highly recommend this experience and loved the creekside pool.

However, it was disappointing to pay full price for the two-hour 'sanctuary' experience when the water jets weren't operating, both steam and hammam room were closed and we were not provided slippers. We also turned up well before our allocated time and were told we only had an hour and 45 minutes to enjoy the experience. We understand the covid-19 restrictions and more than happy to support local, however, we did feel a little shortchanged.

Hi postcardpal, thanks kindly for your review. The Creekside Pool is amazing and certainly one of our favourites. It's easy to relax while overlooking the amazing Spring Creek. In regards to the steam rooms and spa jets, we're sorry to hear you felt short-changed. This is certainly not our intention and we are trying to communicate as best as possible through all booking correspondence and online through our channels that during COVID-19 restrictions are in place on steam rooms and spa jest are not operational. We hope you can visit again and I would personally suggest the Magnesium Salt Pool.

My husband and I had a massage. The bathrooms had an enormous amount of mold on the ceilings, which is extremely dangerous, the service was shoddy - the extra services we ordered were ignored and forgotten, for instance, we paid and waited a long time for devonshire tea. It never came and the staff didn't know about it. We requested on booking that a woman massage my husband. This was ignored and left him feeling very uncomfortable. They told us that we could arrange it when we got to the massage section. Floors were extremely slippery. This extremely expensive and poor experience showed me that nothing had changed there over the years in regard to management of the place. I had a fall there some years ago and hurt my back. They could have cared less. Hepburn spa and bathhouse is a rip off. The public pool cost $99 to bathe in per person!! It used to be free. Shall never return.
