Our second time for an all day indulgence spa treatment! Jane & Peta are amazing and you leave both floating and feeling at least 10 years younger! I’m a bloke and our first visit was the better half’s idea - I became a convert! A truly amazing experience!

This was the best facial I have ever had.
Renee, was my beautician. I can not recommend her enough. I was on a road trip and my skin needed attention. She hydrated my skin and was wonderful at massaging.
She was excellent at her job and if you are in Daylesford, the salon is in the heart of town….you should go there.
Once I was finished, I was taken to a sitting room and offered a tea and water. There was an open fire….so relaxing.

This was my first experience at a day spa and it has left a bitter taste in my mouth. I believe I entered this spa with unrealistic high expectations based on the reviews here on Trip Advisor. I was placed in a couples room with someone I didn't know, then we were asked to strip down but there was no towel or robe in sight that we could discreetly change into afterwards. I was forced to awkwardly undress in front a stranger. When I was asked whether I wanted medium or firm pressure, I requested for firm but unfortunately when being massaged I felt no pressure. I felt nothing. The massage felt rushed and some of my body parts missed out. What a waste. Next came the facial, which I hated and the reason why I won't recommend this place. The facial was for 45 minutes and it felt like the lady was applying every treatment, oil, cleanser, and cream she could get her hands on. My face didn't have a chance to absorb any of the layers before she started to layer more. What frustrated me the most was the woman was aware and could see that I had mascara applied before the facial however continued with the treatment and ended up smearing my make up into my eyes and all over my face. I noticed the other girl also getting a facial had make up too but her facial worked around her eyes to avoid my very unfortunate incident. After the facial I got changed and looked in the mirror to only be horrified at the product build up caught in my eyebrow hair, hair line, and my smeared make up swirled all over my face like I've been punched. My skin looked worse than better. I was so embarrassed I couldn't wait to wash my face. At the end of it all I was led to a small room that looked like their break room and placed in front of a table over flowing with product advertisement screaming "buy me, buy me now!!!" which was a very confronting and cheap selling tactic. The lady who handled my package came back with a slip of paper for me to keep but didn't explain what it was, didn't explain what products she used on my skin or what benefits they have.ni was left confused and concerned about what was just used on my skin. I noticed on the paper it was full of products she used during my facial and I was overwhelmed and shocked over how many cleansers, and creams she used on my skin. I explained before my treatment I experience oily skin, and being young my skin naturally produces a lot of oil. Realising she had applied 3 layers of cream made me very aware of my slippery butter skin. My T zone was overflowing with product that I could feel quickly becoming oil. I left the spa very disappointed. It felt anticlimactic and I left feeling more frustrated than when I arrived.

Anita R, Owner at Daylesford Day Spa, responded to this review Hello Lisa W, Thankyou for taking the time to articulate your experience, however I just need to establish you have the correct Day Spa. There are a few other businesses that use the wording Daylesford Day Spa that has caused confusion in the past and an issue I am currently addressing. We had a group booking on Saturday, however this was booked as a birthday surprise by a Chris who generously paid in full for all 4 ladies as a gift. Just so it is clear to the public that in our 13 years of operation we never place strangers in couples rooms (how awkward indeed!), nor FORCE against someone's will to undress. We have single treatment rooms available at all times. The only time it may happen that someone is sharing, is when a booking is made as a gift or a surprise by someone other than the guest receiving the treatment. We provide robes when customers float between hydro spa an showers. When a treatment is performed in the room for the entire duration the customer jumps straight under the blankets after removing clothing that will be in the way, and hops up only to change into their own clothes when treatment is over. The staff break room is accessed via a lane way and our clients would never see this area, so once again we are unsure of the situation you have mentioned. We have a delightful lounge with a fire place, water feature, organic herbal teas, fruit/nut mix and magazines and all our customers love the ambience in this room after a treatment. It would be great if you could please email us with your full name and date and who made the booking, so as we can identify the stranger in the room and also make contact with them also, the staff room issue and who your therapist was. I have spoken to my receptionist and all therapists over the last week and they had not been in conversation with any client regarding your concerns, therefore our surprise receiving this review. All therapists are highly trained, however we take on board all constructive reviews and if further technique training is required then we will address this asap. We use award wining Australian made Jurlique products and the training is heavily controlled by the supplier and us at the Day Spa. All facials are customised treatments for the individual addressing concerns they may have. You mentioned viewing the strangers facial during your treatment. Did you both have the same treatment at the same time? Lisa W, We really want to get to the bottom of your review and sort this out asap with my team and skin care supplier. You are welcome to call at your earliest convenience. Warm Regards, Anita

Over-rated and over priced. Myself and three girlfriends were left really disappointed by our spa experience here. Arrived 15 mins prior to appointment as required, both advised on phone and the paperwork upon chk-in I was 5 months pregnant. When masseur brought me to the room had no clue I was pregnant and had to wait 10 mins while she set up the massage table. Room was freezing cold, feet left exposed the entire massage...massage was ordinary didn't even do the decollage area. When you go to daylesford you expect eye for detail...lacking here. Other girls had pedi and mani...same deal basic attention to detail! Manager couldn't wait to usher us out. Definitely wouldn't go back and definitely wouldn't recommend.

We always appreciate feedback both good and bad. We appologise for our tardy response but have only just signed up to trip adviser allowing us to respond to feed back. We are truly sorry about your group experience in July and know exactly which weekend you were all here as unfortunalty had a few events occuring that weekend out of our control that effected our operation and impacted on our guests. In 9 years of operation, this had never happened before and we are truly sorry your group felt the energy in our Day Spa was flat. If you would like to contact us directly (as we dont know who you are as trip adviser does not give names) we would love to offer everyone in your group an encouragement gift if you could find it in your heart to return and give us another try. We promise your next visit will be one to remember positively.

Unfortunately we recently had an unsatisfactory experience here. The massage was no where near what one would expect from a 'professional' masseuse. The manicure was so bad that it was redone at their suggestion. But I think worst of all whilst having my nails done, I could hear the staff making fun of a waxing customer after she left and what they said was very mean. Not cool. Not professional. Actually appalling behavior. Stay away from this one. There are many other options in the area.

Thank-you for taking time to give feed back on our services. We would really appreciate it if you would contact us directly by phone or email as your trip advisor name is not on our system and we have no records of any customer having their nails reapplied other than a day we employed a Beauty therapist who was in Training. The therapist in training was advertised at a highly discounted rate so she could practice on customers willing to give her experience. A couple of her clients had to have their nails re applied until they where at a standard we as a business where happy with. We also pride ourselves in confidentiallity and appreciate your feedback.

$200 for a sick friend not showing up? No thanks!!

After planning a long awaited mums day out with our girlfriends we arrived minus one friend who unfortunately had been struck down by gastro and who had a medical cert. The rude lady at the front desk unapologetically and immediately pointed out upon our arrival we would still have to pay for her treatment in full, despite the 7 of us who turned up having all lengthy and expensive treatments. She was also seemingly disappointed to see we had brought a 6 week old baby with us, despite being advised prior. Seeing as we were the only ones there and all fine with the baby we saw no issue.

The services themselves were ok, not fabulous. The rooms were quite cold and oil was left covering my whole body after the massage. I was like a slippery seal. There were no hot towels, individual robes, private changing facilities or showers on offer either.
We were also made to feel dirty afterwards when it was pointed out all the slippers needed to be washed after our use. Discretion would have been appropriate.
The relaxation area was nice afterwards.

On departure and after charging the full fee of $200 for our sick friend the rude lady at the front on departure then said the fee was to cover staff costs...for a 90 minute treatment? These girls must be creaming it!!!

It left a bad feeling with all of us, especially and particularly the interactions with the "older" lady on the front desk.

We will not be back or recommending them to anyone.

Dear Alexandra, thank you for your feedback and the time you have taken to communicate your thoughts. I am very sorry you felt reception to be rude and abrupt. It really is the worst job on reception when you must tell a customer that they will need to pay for a treatment that they had not received. No matter how hard you try you always come across as unsympathetic. Our cancellation policy is on our website and in our brochures along with it being mentioned at the time of booking. With a situation like this our customers will generally give us a few hours notice and then we can rebook the slot, in this way there is no charge if we can find someone to take the place. Believe me...we bend over backwards for our customers to avoid any penalty charges. In your situation we discounted the treatment for your friend so as we could cover some costs. Unfortunately due to our rural location our staff live 45mins to an hour away and I still need to pay them a minimum call out fee. We have had a couple of new employees of late and they may have misguided you in regards to accommodating the 6 week old baby, this is under further investigation. Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) is vital to ensure the safety of all customers within any business. Accidents at work can happen in any industry so we need to take every precaution to ensure we can avoid such misfortune and maintain a safe workplace. This is why we cannot allow children and babies in our treatment rooms as accidents do happen around, candles, oils and electrical equipment. I'm sorry you may have been misguided and once again I will address this asap with my staff. In regards to the oils, we do encourage they are left on the body as they are all pure, organic oils which absorb over time and leave the skin feeling amazing. We have never had a request for the oil to be washed off. The only time we have a shower in use is after a mud wrap. The room temperature is set to the same throughout the building and is only adjusted if a customer requests for the room cooler or warmer. We also have electric blankets that are turned up high on each bed, so I am very sorry you had felt uncomfortable with the temperature. We provide slippers for hygiene reasons throughout the spa as we have had all sorts of unsavory things come through the premises via customer shoes. Before customers leave we like to ensure that everyone knows that we clean our slippers with a disinfectant. Not at all to make anyone feel uncomfortable, but to let you know that we would never give you previously worn slippers and that that they are always disinfected. I can assure you, know one is creaming it in....the cost of labour, products and overheads make it tough for small business . Thank god the government agreeing to take the pressure off slightly. Well, le’ts see what happens! I'm am glad you were able to enjoy our relaxing lounge after treatments and that the therapists could accommodate the last minute pregnancy massages using special safe oils required. However, it saddens me that you have all had a bad experience and I would love for you to make contact asap so as we can discuss this matter further. This constructive feedback is greatly appreciated and provides the opportunity to communicate with my team and see how best to manage such a situation in the future. Warm Regards, Anita

My daughter and I had 30 min massages. They were nothing exceptional and not worth the fee of $75 each. I think better massages await from the other spas in Daylesford/Hepburn Springs that had been reviewed. Prices at others are cheaper too (only reason we ended up at this day spa was because others full on the day). So, plan in advance and book elsewhere!

Thank-you Margaret for providing feedback. We appreciate your comments. We have always tried to keep our prices competitive compared to other high quality spas in our area, with our one hour massages only being $120 for the hour. We provide fully qualified therapists, pay the correct industry rates and use high quality products in a warm, clean and inviting environment located right in the heart of town. Generally we dont not offer 30 minute massages as we find that our clients do not get time to relax and unwind and tend to feel rushed (which is not what we are here for ) where as in the full hour clients get time to drift off with the full body massage and in Deep tissue, therapists get time to work fully on areas of concern. Unfortunaty you walked in on the day and we were fully booked out so we tried to help out by giving you both a 30 minute massage. Its a pity you did not mention anything when you were here as to why you were disappointed as we may have been able to address any issues with you on the day. If it is anything other than the price you were concerned about please contact us as we are always trying to improve our services.

I booked a 2 hour Body Reguvenation Package with an extra 30 min massage at a cost of $320. Whilst the salon presents nicely and the staff were friendly the quality of the treatment doesn't deserve the title of a Day Spa. A bit disappointing given the cost. What really destroyed the relaxation experienced during my treatment was when I went to get dressed I discovered where I had been instructed to leave my clothing on a small piece of bench as big as an iPad my clothes were soaked through and stained were they had been in contact with a pot plant sitting in water. What made matters worse was the lack of interest either staff members took when I explained I was dressed in sopping wet and stained clothes they still were more interested in trying to up sell their products. Therefore all of my relaxation and infused body lotions were soon gone as I rushed home to shower and try and get the stains from my clothes. All Day Spa's I have previously been to offer a change room and locker and all Beautician's provide a hangar for your clothes perhaps at a minimum they might give that a try.

Thank-you Kimberly for your comments. We take all comments seriously and we have taken time to respond to your review The bench top you mentioned is actually 1 meter long and with a sink and a large pot plant on it. This is not the usual place where clients put their clothes they either put them onto the one of the shelves at the end of the bed or hang them on the clothes hooks behind the door. We agree there would have been water in the saucer at the bottom of the pot plant and unfortunately you put your clothes over hanging the pot plant and water seeped up into your top. Which no one including yourself picked up until you got dressed at the end. I know when you mentioned you had a wet top to Balinda she offered you a towel and did try to offer comfort. And when you came into reception after your treatment we offered you retail products (as usual at the end of every treatment) and I asked how your treatment was? it was only at this time that you said it was good but you were cold. I then asked why and you showed me you had a wet top. Immediately you were offered a dry robe to pop on so you could wear it back to your accommodation. You declined the offer and said your husband was on his way to pick you up. We are sorry your top was wet but we are not sure what else we could offer you other than my shirt as we only have robes in the day spa. We have asked therapists from now on to point out to clients the shelf away from the pot plant where they can place their belongings and also the coat hook that is on the back of the door if they wish to hang them.
