    Great experience!
I had a fantastic day with Nick and leant so much about how guitars are put together. Nick was patient and great at explaining everything. He happily agreed to make my cigar box 4 strings, not the usual 3, very much appreciated. A lovely bush setting out of town was nice too. I'd highly recommend the experience to anyone! Marty

Bucket list activity ticked, built an electric guitar
I attended a guitar expo in Melbourne some months ago, and saw the Wildwood Instruments stall where I spoke with Nick about this guitar building course held over a weekend, so I booked myself in for the first weekend of July, and glad I did. Always wanted to build my own telecaster, and Nick was helpful in assisting additional parts like an aqua-turquoise pickguard and Fender Tex-Mex pickup set, which fitted smoothly. The guitar turned out great and sounds amazing. Highly recommend this activity.

A great weekend topped off with a sense of achievement and a newly crafted guitar.
A fantastic, peaceful location for a pleasant and fascinating weekend. Nick is highly skilled and knowledgeable as well as being a patient tutor. I’m very happy with the experience and delighted with the outcome. My only fear is that I may once again become addicted to playing guitars, as well as a new addiction for building and repairing and generally mucking around with theses beautiful instruments. Highly recommend!

    Cigar Box Making Course
I was given this course as a Christmas present and was pleasantly surprised how good the guitar sounds and plays. Having 3 strings tuned G D G it was easy to play chords with one finger or with my newly acquired metal slide. Nick was really good and very helpfull when i needed it.Being able to choose the colour of the stain allowed me to customize the guitar to my liking It was a great experience and the day went really quickly.I will be going back for the 2 Day 6 string course I like the look of the Basswood Resonator Guitar on the website very Mark Knopfleresque. No cigars were hurt in the making of this guitar !!!

    Resonator guitar building!
This is a great experience, and one I recommend highly. Nick is a great teacher, full of expertise and patience, and explained each step of the guitar-building process well. A really fun experience, and the end result - the guitar - looks great and sounds even better!

Arch top electric guitar making course
I completed a semi hollow arch top at Wild wood instruments on the first weekend in Dec 2023. What a fabulous experience, Nic is a very knowledgeable teacher and his workshop is very well set up for students. I have limited woodwork and soldering experience but Nic patiently guides you through the process. It was very insightful to learn how to professionally set up the guitar. Its a great weekend and a very good value way to get a new guitar. I highly recommend for people with all levels of experience as I am sure you will learn a lot and find it enjoyable. Many thanks Nic.

What a fantastic weekend workshop I just had making my own guitar! In a small group we are guided through the steps by Nick who has a wealth of experience and willing to share. With his calm and caring nature processes were explained, demonstrated and I successfully built my own guitar!
Highly recommended for beginners to advanced artists if you want to learn more about your instrument and build your very own masterpiece.

Do yourself a favour, and enrol now.
Thanks Nick, I’ll be back……….

I had a great weekend making a resonator guitar, and I would highly recommend this course to everyone. I have made a few Cigar Box Guitars on my own, and am reasonably familiar with what's it takes. But Nick was brilliant, and I learned sooooo much on the weekend which will stand me in good stead in the future.
