Walked this trail as I came off Pennine way. Good walk but had to walk a couple of miles on road to get back to Glossop. Not a bad journey, but who likes roads walking?

I have visited many times. It's always great for running and walking. From Hadfield to the Woodhead tunnels is 10km so you can turn in your own half marathon if you want! It's straight and seems level (although rises by about 100 metres over the...More

The Longdendale Trail has brown signposts guiding you to it from Glossop. There is a small free car park in Hadfield too. The trail is a disused railway line, so is great for walkers and cyclists, although some recent reviews by cyclists suggest that the...More

Great place. Poor design, its been designed by someone who has never ridden a bike on a trail. Surface between Woodhead and Crowden needs to be upgraded to match the other sections. Biggest gripe is the gates. Cyclists hate gates but at least make them...More

This is a fairy well maintained path which is pretty flat, perfect for some easy cycling. The countryside views this path provides are spectacular and well worth a visit to this part of the country.

The beginning is the worst part, parking is pretty poor, bins are overflowing and there is a disgusting amount of dog waste. PICK IT UP AND IF YOU CANNOT PUT IN A BIN THEN TAKE IT HOME. After that there are lovely views and access...More

A reasonably flat trail from close to Hadfield station to Woodhead tunnel with paths leading off at intervals along its length for those wanting to explore the hills or wander round the reservoirs. Can be relaxing or exhilarating depending how you want to approach it.

We took an easy walk around the reservoir and was pleasantly surprised. The trailis easy to follow and mainly flat with good paths. There are several different trails that you can explore. A good sized car park at reasonable prices. There is some free parking...More
