I would say that the Peak district rivals the lake district in terms of views and landscape, it is also quieter, the down side is that it does not have the facilities of the lakes or even North Wales. A dearth of decent pubs restaurants or hotels. The marketing is not as good and the facilities are therefore left wanting.

Not being from around the area, took ages to find a spot to park the car. Lovely views , super walk. Highly recommended.

We love walking along the Ladybower reservoir, particularly when the water is high and water is rushing down the enormous 'plug holes' into the overflow! We also go up to Winn Hill from here too, and there are spectacular views of the Reservoir from up there! We do this walk with our children (age 12 and 9).

A cold blue sky but sunny prompted a walk up Win Hill . It is fantastic !! Park near Yorkshire bridge inn ,and then walk across the walkway to far side of the reservoir . Up a path and then a steep climb up to win hill . Spectacular scenery and once at the top views of lady bower ,... More

I went here on a Saturday afternoon for the day. Beautiful scenery and a lovely walk around the reservoirs. Interesting history and so peaceful for an afternoon out.

We arrived at our accommodation (The Yorkshire Bridge Inn) and then went for a walk around the reservoir. It is pretty flat all the way and the further you walk, the less people you come across. It seems to be popular with dog walkers and so our terrier had the time of his life! It was foggy but still very... More

This is an amazing place, weather your looking for an easy walk/ cycle or an epic stomp. There are lots off free parking sites along side the reservoir or near the bridge, or you can pay and display at the official carpark visitor facilities near the upper dam. There is a little shop and a coffee station and bike wash... More

The car park here is £2 for 2 hours or under or £4.70 for all day. There were very few spaces even at 11am on a January Sunday - perhaps if more time options were available it would relieve the pressure. There are toilets, a food kiosk and a visitor centre which I would say is more of a shop.... More

If you are visiting bamford this is a lovely place to visit. The scenery is beautiful and steeped in history. I walked around the reservoir and met many dog walkers so is dog friendly. Well worth a visit. Stopped at the ladybower inn afterwards for lunch, which I can also recommend.
