Discover the secret world of nuclear government. For over 50 years this vast underground complex, remained secret, hidden on the outskirts of a sleepy Cheshire town. Declassified in 1993, the 35,000 sq ft underground bunker would have been the centre of Regional Government had nuclear war broken out. The bunker today offers a warm welcome to anyone looking for a totally different day out.

We have passed the road sign for the not very Secret Bunker for many years, and last Thursday Feb 16th we made the visit. I am old enough to have lived through the second world war and its aftermath and this visit brought back a lot of memories. Things we should not forget. The exhibits were very interesting, and explained... More

This is a really excellent collection that really brings home just what a threat existed and the chilling precautions that had to be taken in response. Some of the equipment and exhibits are genuinely surprising to see, as everything was so secret. I was particularly amazed to see the Polaris and Trident warheads. I have a personal connection, in that... More

Took my 10 year old grandson yesterday and we enjoyed a good two hours of information combined with some fun finding the mice and rats hidden in the rooms.

Having wanted to visit here for some time we drove there today and to be honest i am disappointed. The bunker has an interesting history but although they tried i found it hard to engage in the experience and felt bored at times. The place is of course a bunker made of concrete to withstand radiation... but inside the cloying... More

No doubt once a very secret location but now well signposted and easy to find. We found the very large bunker a very interesting place to visit and enthralling to look around. Having lived through the Cold War it was very thought provoking. It is family friendly (follow the nuclear mouse hunt) and there is good naffi (cafe).

We saw this on a program on the television and thought it looked good, maybe it was just an off day but we paid £20 for a walk around rooms that had computers and telephones in,some of the rooms had no lights working, the room that you could go in to feel what an explosion was like was closed.I still don't know... Love visiting Raf hack green it is a interesting and fascinating place with the amount of history that this place has and loads of exhibitions about what equipment it had and different government departments that were inside the bunker and I was even lucky one year to go to a bunker reenactment day were there were guards on the gates... Grandparents, parents & children went to this attraction and all enjoyed it. Finding the spy mice was a big hit for the children and kept them engaged throughout the whole self-guided tour. All adults found it interesting too. We spent over an hour there and would recommend it to others.

This is a secret bunker which would have been the headquarters of the UK in the event of a nuclear war at the time of the cold war. It is full of equipment and artifacts and has numerous rooms to wander around. Now we are in the age of technology the equipment looks so ancient and you can really see... More
