- JGolBridgnorth, United Kingdom4 contributionsToo many dogs everywhere!I have been visiting Cheshire Oaks for many years and use the Premium Parking and the Dropit App. Some really nice shops and good places to eat. As it is now dog friendly there were a lot of dogs in shops, some dog poo on the pavement and dogs lifting their legs outside the shops. Not all of us want dogs everywhere we go!Visited October 2023Travelled soloWritten 16 October 2023

- 123shoesLiverpool, United Kingdom234 contributionsMowgli Cheshire Oaks.I love this Mowgli. The staff are lovely and friendly. It’s got a great buzzy vibe and the food is fabulous. We had chat bombs which are delicious the amazing tamarind fries. My other half had the chip butty and we split a ginger chicken and curry lamb. The other bonus is it’s dog friendly as is most of Cheshire oaks. Well done we really enjoyed our visit and will be back.Visited December 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 December 2023

- DemitriLondon, United Kingdom10 contributionsBest shopping experienceGreat shopping experience. There is a huge array of stores, ranging from clothing to electrical as well as many restaurants for all tastes and budgets. Parking is FREE and plentiful. This place gets VERY busy during long weekends and holidays! Can be difficult to park and slow to get around my car and tedious to walk around when busy. Do come on weekdays or early to actually achieve your shopping needs.Visited December 2023Travelled soloWritten 26 December 2023
- jackirmicAustinmer, Australia808 contributionsDog friendly, good bargainsWe were visiting from Australia to spend time with family. It was a rainy day and we headed to Cheshire Oaks from Ormskirk. Even with a poor exchange rate we found bargains. My daughter and I treated our self to new Coach handbags and the man serving us was so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed seeing the digs walking around all so well behaved. Our 3 year old granddaughter enjoyed looking for the pawprint decals on shop windows, indicating they were dog friendly. We arrived around 10.30 and found parking easily however we noticed when we were leaving at 2.30 the car parks were getting full.Visited January 2024Travelled with familyWritten 2 January 2024
- Nicola_W_0108United Kingdom859 contributionsArray of shops and eateriesWe visited after 4pm on a weekday, which meant thankfully the shopping outlet was significantly quieter than our previous visit. Substantial parking, with generally clear signage. Lots of shops to go round, we didn’t see much to buy personally but depends what you’re interested in/looking for! The outlet seemed clean and modern. Toilet facilities were good and lots of places to eat/drink/grab a snack. Some moron almost crashed into me due to riding around dangerously on their bike - this shouldn’t be allowed! There was maintenance being done on one of the car park lifts but no signs or information to indicate this, so we nearly got stuck in a malfunctioning lift which would have been far from ideal!Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 February 2024
- Faith S211 contributionsDogs ruin the experienceI have been coming to Cheshire Oaks for 20+ years, only fairly recently have dogs been allowed. Visited today, a Sunday and there were dogs everywhere, some very large ones and many on very long leads, a clear hazard. Lots of barking and aggressive behave, i saw some very frightened children. I also saw 2 separate dogs urinating while owners looked on- leaving dog urine for shoppers to walk through. This is entirely unacceptable. The outlet still maintains good value for money bargains across a wide range of shops and some excellent restaurants, Mowgli particularly excellent. Loads of safe free parking. Can something please be done about the dogs- if they cant be stopped can someone please monitorVisited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 February 2024
- MishanjohnPontefract, United Kingdom9 contributionsBit of a conOn the date we visited the outlet had signs promoting an additional 20% off event for those who had signed up to the friends and family MacArthur Glen app. Many of the units had stickers supporting this offer. However, this is somewhat disingenuous. It appears that Macarthur Glenn require the outlets to place the stickers in the windows, but the businesses may not offer 20% or anything like it. The large circular window stickers do have in very very small print a T's and C's. Presumably these are on a website somewhere but who would ordinarily check while shopping, assuming that your eye sight is good enough to spot the condition.Visited March 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 March 2024

Contrary to some other reviews, you do not need a car to get here. We cycled from Belfast as a family (dad, 8 & 6 yo). Whilst this wasn't the reason for our trip, I made sure to include it as a main stop. In fact, we went back twice over the course of our weeks cycling as it was in the middle of 'Eat Out to Help Out' and we enjoyed a lot of great food on offer, probably too much.
I don't think it's worth my while talking about the shops, we all know there are plenty but what about cycle facilities and things for kids? My two girls thankfully aren't shopaholics but we enjoyed probably 5-6 hours in the shopping complex doing two loops. As I said, the Eat Out scheme was in full flow so they enjoyed donuts, smoothies cookies, ice cream and we also had our dinner before we left too in a chicken place (can't remember the name) that did nice wings and criss cross chips. The play park unfortunately wasn't open but they enjoyed that on our previous visit a few years back. Whilst not aimed at kids, there's enough going on to keep their interest up. My girls especially enjoyed the haribo shop and getting their ears pierced at Claires, which was extortionate in my opinion, but cleverly they don't reveal the price until your kids are dead set on getting their ears done.
We had cycled here on our tandem +1 bike. There is a covered bike parking area at the bottom of the multi storey car park. It is clean (surprisingly rare for cycle racks), covered (so the bikes aren't soaked or scorched) and the racks are secure sheffield style to lock to. Also, there is no through traffic (ie opportunistic pedestrians) which is a plus. I'm unsure about CCTV though, I didn't see any. It felt safe though leaving £2000+ of bike (& our travel bags) locked up here. There aren't any cycle tracks through the extensive car parks but as traffic moves so slowly, we didn't face any problems. The cycle network is on the periphery of the car parks and links well back into Chester or northwards, which was where we headed to catch the Stena boat.
All in all, we had a positive experience, great food at 1/2 price, busy but plentiful shops and although we bought too much we enjoyed our trip and will certainly return next time we're riding through the area.

Staff at Dr. Marten store (bar one young girl with tattoos) were abysmal!!!
I've never had a shopping experience like it!
My husband asked a staff member was she serving, she appeared to look at him blankly si he asked again to which she raised her voice aggressively saying No I'm not I've just told you that!!! We are all wearing masks and its important we make allowances for hearing and not take offence to those who've not heard first time! My husband made it clear that her attitude was unacceptable and she asked him to leave. He said he would but would like to speak to the manager. Assistant manager named Alex came out and was not interested in listening to my husband and asked him to leave. We suggested Alex look at CCTV to which he replied there wasn't any. My husband asked for both their names he refused to give names saying he didn't have to due to GPR. We did a bit of asking around and found their names Laura and Alex. Alex called security even though my husband was leaving and wasn't at all aggressive. My daughter tried to explain to Alex what happened and lowered her mask to do so- she was stood a good distance away. He told her to cover her face in a belittling way. She is actually exempt but covered her face again as she is respectful.
Three security staff appeared and Alex told them my husband had insulted him- he hadn't. One of the 3 security removed his mask and became aggressive. My husband moved away and said he would speak with the other 2 security staff who listened and gave advice of correct action my husband could take, they were calm nice people.
My husbands father passed away recently to covid so the fact the security guard squared up to him removing his mask at such close proximity was horrifying and highly unprofessional.
We have never experienced anything like this.
It was one shop and not a true reflection of the rest of this lovely outlet. After such a sad time we looked forward to a day out with our children. It was tarnished by the shocking attitude of these people.
Please look into this and dont let any other family experience what we did.
I did my utmost to stay calm throughout as did one staff member as I had children with me.

Nervously we visited Cheshire Oaks on Saturday, slightly concerned at how busy it would be and if social distancing could be maintained.
We booked Privilege parking for £5 and received a voucher for 10% off in all shops 👍🏻.
The shops are maintaining strict numbers allowed in which does mean some queueing but these were only lengthy in the sports shops. Some of the walkways were very busy but we just moved along and kept our masks on.
Great day and the discount is well worth paying the £5 to park for.

We come here every year to do our christmas shopping. We lo e the selection of shops here and got some really good bargains. We found out at the end of our visit that some shops offer nhs discount to staff who have a blue light card, would have been helpful to know that at the start. We did get a privilege card from customer services which gives you 10% discount in some shops, guest relations used to give you a list of which stores accept this but sadly no longer do this. Transpired the majority of the shops dont actually participate in the privilege card. Shops have varying rules on letting you try clothes on, you would think they would all have to follow same guidelines?. The staff in Ralph Lauren were extremely rude when my husband tried a jacket on. We were told on entry the changing rooms were closed but not that you couldn't try anything on at all!. One female member of staff stared us down after telling us off. We were annoyed not with what she said but absolutely no need for staring and the attitude. For my husband to apologise and them be told curtly by another staff member you are not allowed to try anything on. The money we had planned to spend in Ralph Lauren we took to other stores with much better customer service.

We had planned to visit Cheshire Oaks as a stop gap on our way from Scotland to Wales and was looking forward to some retail therapy. From the moment we drove into the complex we were shocked at the crowds of people walking around, felt like a concert! We managed to find a parking spot and thought perhaps it wasn't as bad as we first thought. But as soon as we saw the amount of non socially distanced huge queues to get in each and every shop we decided not to even bother! We are fairly open minded about the Covid crisis we are careful but not over the top. However even we did not feel safe at all to stay in what looked like a massive breeding ground for this virus! Such a shame.

Dear TheLawrences2014,
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review for our centre.
At Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet, the social distancing and safety measures we have taken are in line with the most up-to-date advice from the health authorities and in accordance with Government regulation.
To enable customers to adhere to social distancing, each brand has an individual capacity limit based on the size of its store and has staff on hand to manage their bespoke queuing systems. That being said, we appreciate your feedback as it allows us to improve.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the centre soon!

We haven't visited Cheshire Oaks for a number of years now,so as it's our daughter's birthday this week,we thought we'd take a trip & see what's new?..
We arrived by 10.30am,a short trip from Oldham, via the M56,the place was already looking busy, well it was a Sunday.
I like to be early when we visit,we managed to find a parking space & headed clockwise around the stores, nowhere really in mind.
The place was busy, all shops covid friendly as you'd expect, one thing that got us were the amount of dogs being walked around, even being allowed into the stores, what's that all about, we have two dog's & would never think about taking them shopping, especially around so called designer stores???.. we even had to dodge the dog poo that some owner had thought to clean up,so we noticed the cleaner being called to deal with it...(change of policy needed)
We toured the site twice, having to que for a couple of stores,to say it's a designer outlet the prices aren't any cheaper than the high street, just last years stock..so we came away with nothing..
Yes a good range of shops & maybe a bargain somewhere but we didn't find it,always next time..just be careful where you step.

Very busy but well spaced out outlet stores. Plenty of food & drinks places. Some good offer but in general found that price is higher than Bicester Village at Oxfordshire which is bizzare. For example Under Armour outlet store; we bought a gym too at BV for £14 and the exact same to at Cheshire Oaks in different colour was £20 , not sure why this is the case.
Other example is Puma gym bottom £25-£30 outlet price which is not much different from some online stores at sale price. Considering the price saving is not much, if the trip is a day out it will be worth it but if the main aim is to bag a bargain I would not say it’s worth it.
Please bare in mind we did not check the upper end stores like Mullberry etc.. so could not provide opinion on these store range.
Nike store is very popular with a queue, we were asked by staff member to download the app to receive 10% off which was really nice. Nike store offer good range of items including trainers which was great value. Staff very helpful, would definitely recommend this store.
For Monday non bank holiday day, the traffic towards CO was awful! Allow plenty of time to travel and park the car.

It’s probably better visiting Cheshire Oaks if you have something specific in mind to buy as there are that many shops you could end up wandering round for hours.
There are definitely some good bargains to be had.
Also lots of places to eat out, you will be spoilt for choice.
We visited mid week in September, the place was quieter than I have ever seen it.
We ate it Ed’s easy diner which does excellent burgers and milkshakes.

Visited Cheshire Oaks on a number of occasions and it's really pleasing to see how much it has developed over the year. Lots of really nice shops, eateries and plenty of parking available.
Much wider choice of shops compared to other McArthur Glen outlets and the stores seem generally much larger too. Prices are competitive and as expected, fluctuate depending on the time of year etc.
Very disappointed with the privilege club which is supposed to save you money in a range of stores. We were told that it would work in 80% of the stores to receive a discount but on our visit, it did not work in any of the stores at all.
The walk ways are a little busy at peak times and some shops feel a little crowded but more stores are operating a queueing system in order to abide by restrictions.
Worth visiting if you are close by and bare in mind that sometimes, you walk away with no shopping and other times, you'll be weighed down with bags!

Been coming here for years. Used to be excellent prices and easy to get a NHS discount card from customer services. Over recent years unfortunately prices appear to have been driven up by well off tourists. Also now you have to use an App for the additional discount. Went to customer services where there were no less than 5 members of staff standing around talking (including commenting on customers). One middle aged woman (I think called Debbie) was particularly unhelpful in explaining things and was quite deliberately condescending, probably trying to impress her younger colleagues. Luckily one of the younger ladies was more helpful and then explained things properly.
Still a good selection of shops and some good deals to be had but you need to know where to look.
