lovely informal night entertained by choir and bell ringers go every year to this event a you get a warm feeling arund christmas time puts you in the holidya spirit

Great place to visit loads to see and do spend the day its easy to get lost in time have something to eat and take a barge trip

Plannned a family trip here today and checked the website before we left only to travel for an hour to find the museum shut . No mention of any closure on the website thanks for nothing

We took our young grandson and his parents on a canal boat excursion with Santa. On arrival at reception hot drinks etc were available in the cafe and Santa appeared and introduced himself to each family. After this we climbed aboard the narrow boat and cruised up the canal with 'lovely' views of the rear of industrial premises in Ellesmere... More

You an go on a pleasant canal ride, nice little cafe, shop, lots to see, many events throughout the year so well worth visiting there web site

Quite good morning out. Run by volunteers who try hard in today's climate for a day out with children. Some good exhibits although some others look beyond repair. The old houses are really interesting and nice visit. Trip up canal was ok lasts about 20 minutes and costs £2 adults and £1 children. Cafe serves nice ish food and fairly... More

Walked around the site to see old barges and locks as well as the old workers cottages. Then took short barge trip from the wharf. Useful local industrial history trip.

My husband visited with my son and reports that this is a fantastic venue suitable for couples and families and individuals of all ages. There's a spectacular view over the ship canal and the Mersey looking onwards to Liverpool. The site is brimming with local and social history and the staff and volunteers are particularly friendly and helpful. There are... More

There is a lot to say about this history of shipping and canals in this region of Cheshire, not far from Liverpool just across the River Mersey. This museum tells that story most effectively, in a fine setting along the waterways.
