Two rooms one filled with ingormation about Pugin's church, the other was WW1 more intesting to locals. Staff very helpful. Not worth going out of your way to see but pop in if you are going to see the church.

St Giles church and the Pugin church are brilliant. Lovely staff and the architecture is truely amazing. The info at the centre was good and Cheadle is a lovely town to walk around.

Unfortunately there is not much here to see considering it is classing itself as a visitor centre. There is not much to discover on the surface of things. I know Cheadle quite well and there is alot of room for improvement here in regards to history, information and the like. I asked someone where was the Town Hall in Cheadle... More

Hi, thank you for rating the Discovery Centre. The centre is ran by a small set of volunteers, with little to no funding we are striving to increase the amount of things to see and do in the building - I'm sure you can appreciate this isn't an easy task but we're dedicated to making improvements where possible. Cheadle does... More

This place is struggling to keep open. It is a local museum, not just about Pugin. It is informative if you already know about him, but a casual visitor would not be fired up by its displays on him. It's trying, but it needs more funding.

The Pugin Centre opened in March 2012 thanks to heritage funding, to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Augustus Pugin and his links with the Cheadle/Staffordshire Moorlands area. It's housed in an imposing period building (formerly the local police station) on Cheadle's High Street and packs a great deal into two rooms: lots of drawings by both Pugin and... More

Visited this weekend, though only a small centre there is actually quite a lot to see. There is a series of Pugin drawings as well as examples of the metalwork produced from Pugin designs by the Hardman firm in Birmingham. The main aim of this centre is to enthuse the visitor to go and visit the many buildings in the... More
