This was my favorite part of our trip to the Big Island, but I am more of a fan of forests than beaches. Douglas was amazing and accommodating and very knowledgeable. Many of the tours I looked up were at least twice the price of...More

We arrived to pouring rain, (so first clue, bring raincoats) only to have the van driver removing the windows from the van, so in my mind, are you loco??? You doing this so we can get more wet?? But I soon saw and was very...More

Great ride. Stopped at the best spots to take pictures. The road is "paved" in spots, steep and one lane in spots. Didn't feel "unsafe" at all. Great guide. If I had a "complaint" it was that we didn't go all the way to the...More

We learned a lot of al the different plants and trees in the valley. The drive is exciting because of the steep way and the drives thru the rivers.

I really didn’t want to hike up from the valley so we opted on the shuttle to get a view. It’s lush and lovely. You will drive around in the valley for about 45 minutes. Narrative is provided. My only real complaint is that I...More

Very lovely, lush valley. Trip down was exciting. Very steep road, but Hele was an excellent driver. The white knuckles were not because of his driving! He showed us many of the native plants and we drove across several creeks and a river. Even saw...More

We did this on the recommendation of a friend and are glad we did. Douglas was our guide, and he was excellent - knowledgeable and lots of fun! It was great getting into the back part of Waipio Valley.

Douglas was a great guide. Lots of great stories and knowledge. This is a great way to see the valley if you don’t want to hike it. It doesnt’ go to the beach, but back into the Taro fields and across the rivers. Beautiful.

Hi - The shuttle down the road to the valley leaves a number of times a day; the last one leaves at about 15:00, if I am not mistaken; I think an advance booking of a few days would be wise.
