We took the Three dollar per person "tram" from Costa Maya Port. Mahahualhas never recovered from a recent hurricane. Most of the town is made up of abandon concrete buildings with grass growing out of the slabs. There is some development along the beach walkway...More

We love coming here and understand this IS real Mexico. The boardwalk runs along the beach but it’s not commercialized so you get local crafts, local restaurants, and great massages. The people can be pushy, but they’re just trying to make a living. Be nice,...More

When you get out of the taxi and are greeted immediately, by name, you know it's gonna be a good day! Bety and Miguel are absolutely fantastic! The food was totally authentic, the drinks were just as they should be, perfectly mixed and cold, and...More

The Malecone in Mahahual is great with lots of shops and restaurants. Be aware of the Crazy Lobster. Get prices before ordering anything!!

I will not complain about things that are unable to control, such as the seagrass that was on the beach. Some businesses tried to keep it clear by raking and taking it away, but the southern end was pretty bad and smelly. This has been...More

We strolled the Malecon every day multiple times. Finding new adventures each day. Gorgeous beaches. I was in the mood for shopping some days but the clothing selection was not the best. Beautiful jewelry can be find if you look hard but the T-shirts and...More

This was a great cruiser's excursion from the Costa Maya port. We had an all inclusive experience with beach chairs and umbrella right on the water. Service was excellent providing us a steady flow of drinks and food steps away from the restaurant. The kids...More

Take a stroll down this boardwalk and you will find lots of shops and restaurants to choose from. The view is fantastic and the breeze is always blowing. As everyone has said, it is very busy when the cruise ships are in port, so wait...More

This area was so beautiful, and there were so many beautiful things to see. You just stroll along the boardwalk area, and visit the lighthouse and take in all the beautiful scenery that Malecon has to offer. Can't wait to return some day.

Essentially all of the restaurants along the Malecon "face" the beach. I can't say whether or not they will negotiate prices less than their printed menu. Occasionally there will be beer specials "pailful of bottled beer for... More
