Small town trying to hustle after a major hurricane seven years ago. People are really nice. Offer all types of goods and services from a beach massage to a quiet private beach chair with drinks and local foods. Wish we could have stayed longer but...More

Nice wide beach promenade with shops and restaurants and beach access. We stayed an extra night, altogether 4 nights because we liked it so much. When they are no cruise ships, a quiet, quaint village with good service and nice people. We found a nice...More

We reserved a chair at Tropicante at Mahahual Beach which is not a resort but they treat you like you are at a resort. We had 15 people and they offered us a covered area with lounge chairs and our own server. There were many...More

This was a great stop on our cruise to Costa Maya. We took the shuttle to the beach town. The water is clear, the beer is cheap ($5 for 5) and the shopping is good. There were a lot of vendors walking up to us...More

The water at Mahahual is really carribbean like, very warm, shallow and clear. A lot of beaches are free or if you'd like a place to sit, you only pay the drinks you consume. Nice to snorkel also!

If you are arriving here from cruise ships is the place to be visited and if you are a beach person. Beaches (I mean the shoreline extension) are the same. Just pick up a place to seat and relax. 10mins drive from the port. Cheap...More

This port is just a "throw in" cruise ship stop between Roatan and Cozumel and definitely NOT worth visiting. We were appalled that this was on the list of stops for Royal Caribbean and would take any Texas "brown water" beach over this place...we love...More

We spent 4 hour at the beach in front of the Crazy Lobster. Very nice. Free chairs and the table service was very good. Beach was clean with nice water.

A beautiful beach loaded with hotels, shops selling typical Mexican goods from the area and restaurants selling a wide variety of food. Many offer Wifi. There are plenty of chairs to rent and tables to eat at. You can even get a massage on the...More

Literally every couple steps you take there are several women giving massages right there on the beach , they practically swarm you. Cheap too I think I actually remember them being 30-40$ for an hour. Only downfall is you... More

Massages on the beach and in town were only $20 but did not have one. Ladies every where with massage table asking. We rented a golf cart to get around and it was $20 an hour. It a must because it a long walk to town.

There are 2 pharmacies in the casitas section of town (where the ships dock)as well as a clinic. They are pretty well stocked and it shouldn't more than 10 minutes to visit both. Just hire a taxi to take you or if you rent a... More
