Tony is the best! We did a Discover Scuba Dive with him after having been hooked on scuba in February, but not yet certified. Tony is very knowledgeable and covered things that our past instructor never did. The reef is in great shape and there...More
The staff at Doctor Dive was absolutely amazing! My sister and I got there early and they were ready with all of our gear. Shortly after getting fitted with our BCDs, weight belt and flippers, we made our way to the dive boat.
Great diving experience. Recommend it to anyone first time divers or experienced. The staff is really experienced and they know what they are doung to make your dive memorable. My instructor Tony was great and i was the only student compared to the other diving...More
First visit to Doctor Dive in Mahahual, Mexico. Recently purchased a house in Mahahual and needed to find a good dive shop. This place is great. The people are super friendly and knowledgeable about the area. This is a PADI certified shop as well and...More
I had a blast hunting lionfish for the first time in Costa Maya. They were very accommodating and even cooked the lionfish for us when we were done diving. I had a great time. This was a great place to go while being in Costa...More
Ok...first, I lied and told Charlie I had hunted before. While I have been NEXT to people that were hunting and watched people actually spearfish the little buggers, I had not (ahem) done it myself. So when I saw online that Doctor Dive operators do...More
I would highly recommend doctor dive. Charlie was my dive master, and he was awesome. I am terrified of sharks so I was a little reluctant on going. But once I got down there that was probably the last thought in my head. It was...More
My 11yo son did an introduction to diving day with them. My wife and I are experienced divers and shadowed our son, but let the instructor do his thing. The instructor gave an excellent lesson in the shop before we took to the water. He...More

The trip was pretty short. We had to wait for a couple that had a reservation just like we did, by the time they got outfitted with equipment we did not even leave until 10:45, when we were supposed to go @10:30. It was only a very short boat ride to where there is a sand bar and where the sea turtles live. (My fiancé and I️ snorkeled out there the next day by ourselves, no boat, that is how close to shore it is) we only were out there for about an hour before our “guide” motioned for the boat. Besides the sea turtles (which were quite small) there was really nothing to see out there where they took us, the fish were very small and there was hardly any coral. We saw more the day before when we went out on our own, but we had our own snorkels, masks and fins, getting rental equipment was not a concern for us. So I️ would have to say we were actually in the water for about an hour, we were back on the beach a few minutes before noon. There are a lot of dive and snorkel shops along the promenade (3 or 4 right next to this one!) you just have to find one that has a trip, duration and destination that you are looking for. Our little trip was $25 each for an hour worth of work on their part, I️ probably would not do this trip again. We were staying in a hotel on the beach and having to catch a ship was not one of our concerns, I️ would have liked a longer and more interesting excursion. Hope this helps!
