Do not pay any of the touts or companies!!!!! Just go to the Akumel dive centre on the beach, pay them 100 pesos per life jacket(they will give you a free locker and showers) and go snorkelling for free! We saw at least 6/7 turtles...More

Did the turtle trip, snorkel round a circuit of protected water where the turtles are. Truly amazing to see them in their natural habitat. Only saw two but was great experience

We did an excursion through Canada Transfer to Akumal to snorkel. We saw approximately 7 turtles, 3 sting rays and a barracuda, which was very close! It was a good time and I would recommend this!

In May they were there. If you don't want a guide you can rent equipment from Akumal Dive Center. It is located on the south side of the Lol-Ha restaurant.Be warn as soon as you enter the area you will be bombarded-hassled... More

Sorry. Forgot the time. It will take approx. one to one and a half hour to go from Cancun to Akumal depending on vehicle and traffic. Have a nice stay.

Turtles can be seen all day long. Clarity of the water depends largely upon turbulence/wave action. Keep an eye out for the forecast vis a vis wind and overcast.
