This is a great place to snorkel. I like the fact you have rules to follow with government employees to enforce them. The environment is important. The turtles and barracudas were cool, the fish and coral were average. I have seen better in Roatan. Further...More

This beach is small but offers lots of amenities such as great restaurants, scuba dive shops and general shopping. Worth a visit. Walking distance from all the Akumal Bay hotels.

There was a bit of algae this week, but we were able to snorkel. Wished I had brought my own equipment because the resort did not open up earlier enough for my needs. Saw sting ray and beautiful fish, but not the turtles everyone else...More

Way too windy, subsequently, the seaweed stinks. Bad beach management. Very few warnings about the rio tides, very worrying.

We had a relaxing family vacation. However the beach was full of seaweed which made it hard to get into and out of the beach... Nevertheless we had a fun and amazing time around... We however, did not spot any turtles :(

If you are talking about at the beach then I guess anything at your own risk. Some resorts have lifeguards. If you are talking about hotel pools I guess every hotel has its own rules.

Zoetry does focus on these subjects and will be your best choice. Secrets Akumal has yoga but no meditation. Both resorts are great. If you go to Secrets Akumal ask to meet Erik Rodriquez the Sous Chef a wonderful person.
