The beach looks appealing until you take your first step and realize that it's all rocks and that you need sandales to avoid hurting your feet.

The beach was ok but the turtles amazing. Please do the following to save the money for the local guides who are complety useless. Go to the akumal dive shop and take the lockers there (avoid the others because they sometimes steel) for 120 Pesos....More

What an awesome beach. Plenty of excellent restaurants / bars and a great swimming area. Ran into quite a few huge turtles feeding on the edges of the area. Plenty to see and do. If your in this area it is A MUST DO.

Hi sorry about this but I am coming out there start June can u go to this beech and swim on your own or not. It's just that my granddaughter wishers to go there and there is no point if she can not also can somebody recommend a place on the beech to eat and drink and possibly watch time go by thanks

Yes it is. Go early in the day to avoid all the tours for turtle watching to get the best water conditions.
Hello staying in cancun I know they have only just giving licences again can you get transportation from cancun and a tour guide to swim the turtles if so what companies are they allowing to do it? How does it work now since the ban anyone been recently?

They removed the group tours for a bit (this past February), but last I heard there are some groups that are being allowed back in (in April). I apologize, I cannot find the most recent article. I would check with your... More
