Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited the Teotihuacan pyramids without a guide and started with this museum. It's a really beautifully designed space with a lot of good information and artifacts. Starting here is a perfect way to begin your visit and there are picnic tables outside if you bring a snack or lunch. It was wonderful to see so many artifacts kept on site rather than going to the larger Museum of Anthropology in CDMX, although it seems very disrespectful to display skeletons and mummies. The museum curators could have shown replicas rather than the real thing to the same effect.

What a great way to complement our visit of the pyramids! We hired a local guide who explained the main exhibits, including the skulls, and the timeline of Teotihuacan.
We also visited the Museum of the murals, on the opposite side of the ruins. Both highly recommended.

This museum is located within the Teotihuacan site, near the Pyramide del Sol, and is a great place to find some shade, quiet, and ancient inspiration during your visit to the ruins. In addition to a fantastic collection of artifacts, there is an informative scale model of what the site once looked like. This is a great way to augment your visit and make eye contact with the craftsmen and artists who once in habited this majestic site. The attached botanical gardens are also very beautiful. Worth the detour!

We visited the museum at the end of the day, and found it to be a nice respite from the sun and pyramids. The displays are well laid out and interesting. It has some nice artifacts, although the bigger ones are at the Anthropology Museum in Mexico City. Overall, this was a great way to end the day.

I absolutely loved this museum, the best part of it was is that they have a lot of mummies in there. Also a lot of skulls and bones from deceased people. A lot of cool artifacts and also a big display of all of the pyramids on scale model. Really cool place to tour after you are done with the pyramid.

This is a must see museum. I believe this would be a great closing activity for a morning at the Archaeological Site in Teotihuacan. It is located on the main road outside, around the corner from the archaeological site. It is a small museum but if you take the time to look at everything closely and read the info. cards you will find it quite informative and educational.
