This is the Basilica built by Vasco de Quiroga in Patzcuaro and contains the Virgin of Health which is venerated throughout Michoacan. The basilica was meant to have 5 naves but only this one was built. Don't miss it.

If you do nothing else in Patzcuaro, don't miss this lovely Basilica. Huge barrel boveda ceiling dating from the 16th century. Great example of early Spanish colonial architecture.
