If you ask my kids what the best thing about PEI was it is Basin Head!! The sand felt like soft flour, the water was rough enough to provide some fun wave action but not too rough for onlooking parents to be worried! The red rock cliffs were gorgeous! And the prohibited bridge jumping...well that was the most fun thing... More

This is a beautiful beach, one hours drive from Charlottetown. The singing sands were quiet today though. Apparently this only happens on very hot days. We were disappointed to miss it, but we enjoyed a quick ice cream and walk on the beach anyways. Lifeguards on duty with great info to share about staying safe in rough waters.

A beautiful beach with clear sand on-land and in the water (no rocks), we found the singing sands as you pull your feet through the sand! If you are a good swimmer and don't mind jumping into cold water, you can jump off the structure at the bottom - it was swarming with people even on a cloudy day! We... More

This was our family's favorite stop on our week-long trip to PEI. The beach is beautiful. The sand is very soft and the water wasn't too cold. The facilities are nice.

We went a bit further out on the beach (past the bridge and jumping kids) in search of the singing sands. We discovered them not too far off. While the kids enjoyed the sound, the main appeal was the soft sand, clear waters, and calming view. The water was a bit cold but not too chilly and kids can walk... More

We were so happy that we took a chance on visiting Basin Head provincial park with our dog. We were vacationing in PEI for a week and were disappointed to find that most provincial parks don't allow dogs during the summer because of the piping plover and their habitat. The water was super cold - only 17 degrees but my... More

This is a great beach area with the highlight being the singing sands. Our son called it the Squeaky Beach though.

I love this beach so much I almost don't want to review it. Such a treasure. Bring your kids and your gear and enjoy!! Also, muster up some courage and jump off the wharf bridge!

Dropped by just to take a look and was sorry I didn't have my bathing suit! People of all ages were enjoying the lovely beach and beautiful summer weather. Well kept museum and gift shop with well informed and helpful staff. Did some shopping here!
