Great beach, beautiful views of red stone cliffs. Great walk. Washroom, change rooms, ample parking. Boardwalk for walking or cycling. Marked trails. Many interpretive stations with ecological information. Well worth the trip.

cavendish is basically a "summer town" the beach should still be accessible as it's a national park ( dont forget your park pass) Some larger restaurants may still be opened. i was in pei for labor day weekend, and most things, such as gateway village were shutting down. you will probably have better luck in Ch'town If you are looking for little shops. it's about 40 min drive.
