You really should read the book before you go. The grounds are beautiful. The house tour itself is very nice and its interesting to put yourself in Anne's place. You can walk through the Haunted Forest and Lovers Lane.

I see others complaining about crowds but that was definitely not my experience. Got there at 9:20 on Saturday and practically had the place to myself. Plenty of time to view the rooms at my leisure. It was sunny so I got some great pictures....More

Friendly staff, but a long wait to pay and tour, and this was a Tuesday at noon. The grounds are attractive, and the walks are lovely, although you have to pay extra if you want to see the original house. Green Gables itself is full...More

We have visited Green Gables before and found it a lovely interlude. Unfortunately, this trip was marred by the noise and disruption of major construction activity. It is unfortunate that this construction has to be carried out during peak visiting season as it detracted from...More

The place itself is not big, you can see everything in two hours. The whole thing is very charming, including the house and the two short trails. It can get crowded (I was there during the summer) so if you are not a big fan,...More

Best part of this is the view from outside. Read the book If you haven’t. The inside had some artifact pieces from the 1800s. The staff was just kind of standing around. They should be hired to tell more about the inside or tell a...More

Someone at the Provincial Park gate said it was open until 8, but didnt state that it was only grounds that were open and no access to the buildings. So, the next day (after we had to book a hotel to see what we wanted...More

I was unimpressed with the property, which included some historical buildings, an ice cream shop, a brief video, and a huge gift shop.

Enjoyed the walk through Haunted Hallows and Lovers Lane but got a little lost on Haunted Hallow. Lovely day! Enjoyed the House, seeing Anne, and the house. Reasonable entrance fee. Friendly staff. Long line at bookstore.

We had our dog with us. He was not allowed to go in the house or barn, but was able to talk around outside and in Lovers Lane and Haunted Hollow with us.

It is a self guided tour. Tickets are not free but were free to youth in 2017/18. I think an adult ticket is $8.00. Just show up when you want.

Not really walking distance (to me) but within a mile if that suits. Very close to the main drag
