Just a short drive from the town centre. Although we visited at a later time of the season, you can still see a bunch of fish (probably trout) swimming and jumping in the river. Because the water is quite shallow, they are easily spotted. I...More

This is a fun place to stop in the afternoon for all ages. A short distance from the parking lot is a dam where you can see fish jumping upstream. I'm not an expert so I don't know the best time of day/year to go....More

The scenery is decent and the place is a nice spot to take photos. If possible, going during the Salmon run would be advisable, as that is what the spot is popular for. The place is a good starting point for hikes/trails.

We came here today for a nice walk along the river. I understand at certain times of the year you can come here and watch the salmon run. We would like to come back for that for sure! A very peaceful place.

In early October, 2017, I went to both the fish ladder and Port Hope to see migrating salmon and trout. At this particular time, viewing the fish at the ladder was mainly in the water, with fish occasionally jumping. In the town, however, the viewing...More

It's great watching hundreds of fish congregate at the bottom of the dam all trying to get up the rushing water. If you've never had the experience its a must see. Up the hill where the fence is, there is the fish tagging station where...More
