Visited here for the Huron Fringe Birding Festival which is held here each year in late May. The Tower Trail was lovely and we saw many different types of warblers--chestnut-sided, bay-breasted, black-and-white, even a prairie warbler--along with many other birds, such as ospreys and baltimore...More

This park is simply put, stunning ... kilometer after kilometer of well maintained trails with gorgeous views. Parked on the side road and hiked in. Especially enjoyed the trail along the water along the old Lakeshore Road, and the Tower trail around the marsh area....More

Weekend camping trip in a tent with our 9 yo. We stayed in the Huron non-electric site (302). We spent the day riding the extensive trail network through the park seeing a huge variety of birds, some turtles and a white tailed deer that jumped...More

Stunning trails and great facilities! We stayed in a yurt that was well maintained. Washroom facilities were quite impressive as they were constantly being cleaned although try not to go to the washrooms early in the morning as they do clean them extensively and it...More

The wildlife in this part of the province is spectacular, including some very rare species. A very pleasant way to spend a day with nature.

My boyfriend and I booked a yurt in February2017. The yurt was spacious, clean, warm and the park is so big that it has a lot to offer during all seasons. Our yurt site was rated as good privacy on the website however because all...More

We managed to book a yurt here at fairly short notice, and stayed for what turned out to be a stormy weekend in late November, complete with rain and snow. The yurts are very nicely set up with a covered area and bbq outside, inside...More

Went with friends for a winter getaway weekend, the yurt was very spacious (there were five adults in our yurt and we had room to spare) and cozy! The furnace kept all of us nice and warm! The scenery is beautiful, and it's a great...More

Im unable to make reservations on the website. Does this park take reservations or is it just, "pull up to the gate and hope there is a campsite available?!"

For yurts we always had to make reservations 6 months in advance. I'm sure campsites are the same. Might be worth it to call them directly and book by phone if you are having difficulty with the website.

Yes there are restrictions with pets on the main beach. However, I believe there is a dog friendly beach near the entrance/park store. I didn't go to it myself, but I saw some reviews that mentioned it before, as well as a... More
