The story of the Mammoth Cheese is a must for visitors to this lovely town, and you can see what it would have looked like here, not far off Gore St.

This is a mock-up of a huge cheese created for a special event. It is situated in the basin area of Perth near the "Crystal Palace" just east of city hall. An interesting piece of history well-presented.

Had heard this story in history class but to see how big the cheese would have been was wow, that's a lot of cheese. Made me proud that our farmers and cheesemakers could pull this off!!
