Some friends recommended this place so decided to take the one hour drive west of Halifax. Right on 104 a few kilometers west of Truro NS. We have driven past it many times. Now I wish we had stopped there. It is a delightful place to visit if you are looking for local produce or if you want a snack... More

Masstown is a great place to stop, with lots to look at, shop for, and try (both local and shipped in). Definitely recommend the baked goods. However, I needed to write a review specifically on the Catch of the Bay Fish and Chip boat. Seriously, this is a must-eat spot for the best Fish and Chips in the area. I... More

You can't go past this place. It is very popular with locals and visitors. Always busy. They have a fish & chip outlet in the shape of a boat. There is an area with tables & chairs to sit and enjoy your meal. In the main building there is a gift shop, a grocery section, a bakery section, fruit &... More

Great gift shop of you are interested in that. Liquor store with plenty of selection. Lots of conventional groceries and also a large prepared fresh food section with fresh baking, home made pizza and so much more. It is definitely worth getting off the beaten path (the Highway to New Brunswick) to take a break and look around this place.... More

We stopped here to pick up a seafood pie for our dinner. You can pick one up already boxed, as they are in a cooler in the area where the restaurant is located. The seafood pie with lobster is more expensive than the regular seafood pie. There are also mini individual pies and large pies. We purchased the regular (w/o... More

Someone burnt the raisin bread and the deli was out of plain Dutchman's Cheese but otherwise the place is hard to beat. Liquor store onsite and adjoining Fish Emporium and eatery. Garden Centre, knic knacks fruit, vegetables, preserves, dairy, bakery, ice cream, fast food. Quick check out.

My husband, 10 month old and I traveled to Sydney, Nova Scotia for their Fiddler's Run Race Weekend, and the Masstown Market was a stop for us both as we were headed to and from Sydney. It is well situation right off highway 2. There's the market (indoors) itself, a fish and chip food truck (fantastic fish and chips), and... More

We first visited Captain Cob's Corn Maze and went through the maze. It was fun and somewhat challenging. There is also a Fun Farm located on the property. There were many families enjoying the whole experience. They had chickens and goats we could feed. They had a bounce experience for the kids and a kids zip line. They had a... More

I stopped as I always do and had lunch. I had a bowl of great seafood chowder, and a real turkey 1/2 sandwich, a tea biscuit and coffee for well under $10.00. Although Masstown is more than a market, they have great breads, and rolls. The sandwiches are all local grown meats and real turkey sliced. The resutant is just... More
