If you have some extra time in Mahone Bay, you should check out the museum. It's clear that the curators have put a lot of love into the exhibits, and you learn a fair bit about the history of Mahone Bay - early settlement, etc....More

Wandering around Mahone Bay, stopped into the museum. Greeted by the young gentleman working there. Talked briefly about this being our first visit to Nova Scotia and how much we were enjoying it so far. The museum itself is quite small, but packed with a...More

We were visiting my husband's family and decided to go to Mahone Bay. What a beautiful and quaint little town. The museum is free to browse with lots of local information about the first families in the area.

Well worth a visit. Very informative and interestingly presented, lots of photos. Spans local history from the early settlers to present day, though focusing on the original families and why they came here. Free entry, but donations welcome. Even has free wifi.

A little hard to notice when walking along the main street as it is elevated up from the road. The place is laid out to make learning an experience not a chore. Plenty of hands on for children and adults too. One could spend hours...More
