A superb trail of 5.5 km (seemed like 7) around the coastal head high above the sea with spectacular views. Although a rugged area, the path is clearly defined, with many flights of steps both up and down and some rather more difficult surfaces to manage. This was a final walk before we left Newfoundland to return to UK and... More

I've done this trail a few times now. It's about a two hour walk and you'll see some incredible views. Although most can handle it, the hike does have a lot of steep steps in places and may not be suitable for young children or people with mobility issues. Good footwear is a must, can be challenging if it is... More

If you like walking/hiking try this. Will suit beginner/intermediate levels, it's not too taxing and takes about 3 to 4 hours depending on fitness. There are plenty of places to stop for a rest and take in the views.

The Skerwink trail is really well maintained but it is quite challenging in places! Someone else graded the difficulty level as moderate to difficult and I agree. The path hugs the coastline and the views over the water are fabulous! We went around 10 am and it wasn't too busy at that point. There is one outhouse type washroom near... More

We have completed this 5km (approx 1 hour long) hike numerous times, and it is a MUST DO if you are in the area with a little time to spare. The hike goes along the sea wall, and the views of the ocean and cliff side is outstanding. Well maintained trail, however steep in areas and may prove somewhat difficult... More

Beautiful walk with multiple stairs to climb, and a bit difficult if you are balance-challenged. Take a walking stick with you. You will meet great people along the trail.

We walked the 100 metres from Skerwink Hostel to the well marked trailhead. Start through the gate to travel clockwise or step down to the gravel road below to go the other way. Take water or a snack and dress in layers. You'll be about two hours based on a moderate pace. The trail is well maintained with steps, rock... More

Rated as moderate to difficult so I was nervous about it but the trail itself was well laid out with good steps in steep areas & planks down in boggy areas with wire mess. Fabulous views of the cliffs & I'm scared of heights. Lots of spots to stop for rests.

A very well maintained trail. Quite a few steps - recommended route is clockwise. Views are incredible.good footwear needed and if it is windy can be cold in exposed areas.
