The monument, which really only consists of a larger than life sized Statue of Leif Erickson is located at the entrance of the L'Anse aux Meadows site.

Unfortunately it was pouring rain so we did not spend a lot of time at the site. It would have been more enjoyable in better weather

Another neat landmark, but no real signs to tell you it is there. We found this neat monument by the Norseman Restaurant. He looks out over the ocean. This monument was donated by the Leif Erisond Foundation of Seattle.

Nicely made statue and explanation of its build. Location was beautiful and the Norstead restaurant made a most excellent duck comfit.

When you go too the Leif Ericsson Monument try and find the peace sign. It is difficult but look hard.

Just opposite the Norseman restaurant and looking out over the harbour. Easy to visit if you're in the area but don't make a special trip

Check out the statue of Leif Ericson! This statue is only one of a group placed in spots where the Norse are known to have settled....you have to admire these people who set off in their boats...to set up their communities.
