Excellent as they have many displays and their shop has a variety of art, jewellery, books. It's a virtual trip to what is called Nja Island and the lives they lived when they arrived.

I remember coming here 3 years ago and there was a lot more to see not impressed with the changes and definitely not worth the $15.00 family pass charge

The story of the Icelandic people who first colonized this part of Manitoba is so very interesting. The trials they endured were many. Don't miss this chance to learn some very interesting history.

Short drive from Winnipeg. A nice side trip combined with lunch in Gimli, an afternoon at Winnipeg beach topped off with an ice cream at the local corner store. The museum goes into depth about why and how Icelandic people immigrated to Manitoba. I was...More

This museum gives one a good idea as to the life of the Icelanders in their early times here. It could be more comprehensive with more historical references and events.

Having been to Iceland 6 times, and somewhat familiar with the role many Icelanders have played in Manitoba this Museum is really fascinating!! The exhibits, like Iceland, are limited in number-- BUT NOT IN QUALITY!!! The presentation of the history is also very interesting. This...More

Price of admission was very affordable for our family of 4. Lots of history to read and learn about. Great collection OLD rocks that you can touch and see up close. Nice little gift shop to pick up a little souvenir.
